The Clarks Hotels & Resorts opens its property Clarks Inn Suites in Goa. The brand strengthens its footprints down west and aims for the growing Goa business and leisure travel market. Thanking the govt to offer foreign tourists GST refund for local shopping, FHRAI has proposed to extend this to all shopping. Gurbaxish Singh Kohli, Vice President, FHRAI, says, “The government is considering piloting the system to offer GST refund on purchases made by foreigners at only Cottage Industries Emporium. This is a welcome move and we request that the benefit be extended to all purchases that they make in the country.”

The Indian hospitality sector witnessed strong growth in Q2 (April – June) 2022, according to JLL’s Hotel Momentum India (HMI) Q2, 2022. Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) witnessed an exponential growth of 339.3 % year-on-year (YoY) in Q2, 2022 over Q2 2021.

Goa tourism department has reduced the number of clearances or permissions that trades are required to attach at the time of registration. For a new hotel, an entity can get registration done by submitting three documents such as ownership document, CST registration, if applicable, and an identity proof; while no document needs to be submitted for renewal.
