Singapore Tourism joins forces with Sheeraz Tours to capture UP market

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) together with 3 travel partners (Resorts World Sentosa, Dream Cruises and Royal Caribbean International / TIRUN Travel Marketing) took part in a trade engagement event organised by Sheeraz Tours in Lucknow on February, 26. The session was held in Hotel Hilton Garden and was well attended by more than 100 tour operators and agencies from in and around the city.

Leveraging on Sheeraz Tours’ strength as a leading player in Uttar Pradesh on both b2c and b2b fronts, the event enabled STB and its partners an effective platform to reach out to and build connections with the local travel trade partners and providing them with an update on their respective product offerings.

This was all about the new product updates and also about the speculation for coronavirus which is going in the mind of tourists travelling abroad, Raymond Lim, Area Director, Singapore Tourism Board, India has gave the presentation along with Dhirti Kapoor.
Ms Diksha Batra, Vice President- Sales, Dream Cruises, Pradeep Israni-Senior Manager, Resort World Sentosa and Midhat Hussain, Head North India, Royal Caribbean Cruise were also part of the event. Apart from giving the product information for 2020, they also guided the travel agents on how clear the myth of COVID-19 from the client’s mind and what safety measures are being taken to fight the virus.

S.M.A.Sheeraz, MD, Sheeraz Tours said that the session like this was required to boost the enthusiasm among the II-tier and III-tier city travel agents of Uttar Pradesh and he is working to give the best exposures for the outbound tourism in the state.

Hina Sheeraz, Director-Sales, Sheeraz Tours was also present at the event as she coordinated & hosted the event. Prateek Sahai (VP) TripShapers.com (unit of Sheeraz Tours) introduced the B2B online portal and mobile app to the travel agents through which any service can be booked with the help of a click.

During the event, STB also shared various marketing assistance schemes to help the local travel trade promote Singapore as a destination for M!CE and cruise travel. 2020 has started on an eventful note for STB with roadshows in Chennai, Raipur, Guwahati and Hyderabad and participation at SATTE 2020. In a major consumer outreach activation initiative, STB has collaborated with Zomato for Zomaland Season 2, a multi-city pan-India food and entertainment event.

While speaking about the STB’s efforts to showcase Singapore as a destination of choice among Indian travellers,  Lim said, “Travellers from Uttar Pradesh to Singapore has registered good growth in 2019. As part of our strategy to make more inroads into the secondary cities, we hope to further our efforts in engaging this market in 2020 through forging marketing partnerships with key players like Sheeraz Tours and grow Uttar Pradesh’s market share of Indian visitors to Singapore.”

Singapore welcomed 1.42 million visitors from India in 2019, making it the Third largest visitor arrivals source market for Singapore. This is the 5th year in a row Singapore has welcomed more than one million Indian travellers to experience its diverse offerings.
