Amit Kumar returns to the national capital as Area Manager (Welcomhotels-North) & General Manager, Welcomhotel Sheraton, New Delhi. He moves from ITC Grand Goa where he helmed the premier leisure destination property and created an array of guest friendly concepts that attracted new travellers while ensuring the loyal guests kept coming back. Amaan Kidwai is now ITC Hotels Area Manager for Luxury Hotels (North) & General Manager – ITC Maurya. Amaan has been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing ITC Hotels’ operations in the Northern region of India while also helming operations at ITC Maurya, New Delhi. In his role as Area Manager, Luxury Hotels (North) Amaan will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across all ITC Hotels (ITC Maurya-New Delhi, ITC Grand Bharat–Gurugram, ITC Mughal–Agra & ITC Rajputana–Jaipur) and properties under brand Mementos in this region. An alumnus of IHM Mumbai, Amaan has an extensive background in Food & Beverage service and has steered transformative initiatives pan India. ITC Hotels has announced the opening of its 13th luxury hotel in India, ITC Grand Goa, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, formerly known as the Park Hyatt Goa Resort & Spa, on Arossim beach in Cansaulim, South Goa. Celebrating the spirit of Goa, this 252-keys beach-side, village-styled resort’ s architecture draws inspiration from the Indo-Portuguese vintage and comprises six signature dining options, indoor and outdoor meeting and banquet spaces and Kaya Kalp- The Royal Spa. ITC Hotels acquires Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa

ITC Hotels has announced the successful acquisition of Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa as part of an auction held by Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI) for Rs 541 crores in 2015, and upheld by the Supreme Court in its March 19 judgement. Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa at Cansaulim, spread across 45 acres and comprising 252 Indo-Portuguese style rooms and suites, is currently under renovation and will soon echo ITC’s standards of excellence.  The sprawling property is currently under minor renovation to comply with all the ITC’s exemplary sustainability practises to deliver the best of luxury to its customers. Commenting on the chain’s entry into Goa, Nakul Anand, Executive Director, ITC said “ITC is pleased to announce the latest addition to its luxury hotel portfolio in the hospitality landscape of Goa. This has been a long-awaited destination for ITC and we welcome the opportunity to be integrated into the multi-faceted culture and ethos of Goa.” He further added, “In order to ensure business continuity and seamless transition, the leadership team of ITC Hotels is at hand to support the current team of managers and associates. FAITH elects new team

The Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism and Hospitality (FAITH) has elected its new team with Nakul Anand, Executive Director, ITC, as the Chairman, who was nominated by Hotel Association of India (HAI). The Vice Chairman is Akshay Kumar, CEO, Mercury Himalayan Explorations, who was nominated by Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI). The association also created an additional position of Vice Chairman, for which they have elected Sunil Kumar R, CEO, Travel World, who was nominated by Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI).  Subhash Goyal, Chairman, STIC Travel Group, who was nominated by Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO), is the new Honorary Secretary, while Garish Oberoi, Partner, Hotel Uberoi Anand, has been declared as the Treasurer. Aashish Gupta continues as the Consulting CEO of FAITH. All the above positions have been unanimously elected by the FAITH Board.

490-room ITC hotel to launch in Kolkata by 2017

ITC is all set to launch its new property in Kolkata by 2017. ITC Hotel, Kolkata adjacent to ITC Sonar, will be symbolic of the rich history of Bengal and Kolkata, being built with the colonial theme on the lines of the ‘British Raj’ and Calcutta as the ‘Imperial Capital of the British India’. The 490 key hotel would be among the tallest buildings of Kolkata with a commanding view of the entire city.

YC Deveshwar to step down as ITC’s Exec Chairman, CEO

YC Deveshwar is all set to step down as the Executive Chairman & CEO of ITC in February 2017. He completes his term on Februrary 4, 2017. However, he will continue to function as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the company. Deveshwar is the longest serving Executive Chairman of ITC till date. The news has reportedly come in the form of the notice to the shareholders of the company, ahead of the AGM on July 22. Deveshwar joined ITC in 1968 and became the Executive Chairman in January 1996
