Port Blair seaport gets e-visa approval from government following IATO’s request

Rajiv Mehra, President, IATO, announced that Port Blair seaport has been officially designated as an e-visa port. This move comes as a response to IATO’s request made last August during Mehra’s visit to Port Blair, where he met with the Port Blair Governor. “We are thrilled to share that the Government of India has approved our request to introduce e-visa facilities at the Port Blair seaport,” Mehra stated. The implementation of e-visa services at Port Blair is expected to streamline the entry process for visitors and further promote the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as a premier travel destination.

Mid-year report for PATA Asia Pacific Visitor Forecast 2024-2026 predicts strong gains in arrivals for 2024

According to its Mid-Year Report for its Asia Pacific Visitor Forecast 2024-2026, PATA predicts strong gains in Asia Pacific international visitor arrivals for 2024. This update underpins the prior report’s prediction of strong annual growth in international visitor arrivals (IVAs) into and across Asia Pacific, exceeding pre-pandemic 2019 levels for the first time in 2024 under the mild scenario, and by 2025 under the medium scenario. However, challenges persist as the severe scenario predicts arrivals in 2024 to remain 31% below 2019 levels, and 13% below the benchmark by 2026.

Israel plans to introduce a first-ever e-visa program for Indian citizens, may launch a pilot for e-visas by end of the year

Sharing an exciting update on the visa procedure for Indian nationals visiting Israel, Amruta Bangera, Director of Marketing, IMOT, India, says, “To attract even more tourists and simplify their travel experience, we are planning to introduce a first-ever e-visa program for Indian citizens. LOT Polish Airlines to fly to Lisbon from 3 February, 2025 five times a week

Lisbon, capital of Portugal and a vibrant city full of history on the Atlantic coast, will soon become the latest addition to the worldwide route network of LOT Polish Airlines. As the Polish flag carrier, which is a member of Star Alliance und which serves its global hub Warsaw daily from India, is continuously expanding its connection within Europe, the new capital-to- capital service between Warsaw and Lisbon will be launched on 3rd February 2025. Flights will initially be operated five times a week (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays). From 24th February 2025, the airline will operate this route daily. LOT Polish Airlines will be using modern Boeing 737s for these flights, with a travel time of just over four hours each way. Travelport, in its 2024 State of Modern Retailing Report, finds that most respondents (88%) agree they would prefer to see all flight options and fares on one screen, which is likely the reason that more than half (54%) said they frequently use a comparison site to search for information before purchasing their ticket. The majority of Millennial (70%) and Gen X (64%) travelers often use online travel agencies (OTAs) to book, citing choice and price transparency as the primary reasons.
