EQT Private Equity is set to sell a majority stake in VFS Global to Blackstone and retain a minority position. According to sources, the acquisition is estimated at over $2 billion valuation. Ajay Bhatt, Minister of State for Tourism & Defence flagged off the Buddhist Circuit special Train from Safdarjung Railway Station, Delhi on Monday. The focus is to bring out the potential of Buddhist tourism through ‘Dekho Apna Desh’ campaign.

The tourism department of Goa issued notice to several hotels against putting up in rented villas and bed and breakfast facilities that were not registered with the state tourism department. Goa Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar said that booking a non-registered hotel will soon be considered illegal and strict actions will be taken on bookings going ahead. Due to non-registration of such facilities, it was difficult to track the exact number of tourists who visit Goa every year, he added.

“The German Government has lifted all travel restrictions for persons residing in India, effective Sunday, September 19, 2021. Travel to Germany for all purposes is permitted again from India. However, a proof of vaccination, proof of recovery from COVID-19, or negative test result is still required for entry.” All Indian travellers who are entering the Federal Republic of Germany above the age of 12 must either show that they are fully vaccinated or fully recovered or have tested negative prior to departure. Travellers who received all the required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine cited on the website of the Paul Ehrlich Institute are considered fully vaccinated. A period of at least 14 days must have elapsed since receiving the last vaccine dose. Persons vaccinated with Covaxin or any other vaccine which is not recognised by the Paul Ehrlich Institute have to carry a negative PCR test report which is not older than 72 hours on entry in Germany. Any person entering Germany by plane, regardless of whether they have spent time in a risk or high incidence area, must provide the airline with a negative test result, a vaccination certificate or a recovery certificate. Vaccinated travellers must additionally show no relevant symptoms. Travellers who can prove they were previously infected with COVID through a positive PCR test, taken at least 28 days but no more than six months prior, and who show no relevant symptoms are considered to be fully recovered.
