‘MoCA must get direct flights from India to countries with high outbound’: Parliamentary Committee

Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture, has recommended that MoCA may look into initiating direct flights between India and countries that are witnessing a rise in the number of outbound international tourists. “Thus, connectivity between India and its South Asian neighbours is of utmost importance for Indian tourism sector,” it said in a report.

Travel & transport to cross 21% of India’s services exports in FY22-23: SEPC

Travel and transportation services combined are likely to account for 21% of India’s total services exports in Financial Year 2022-23, compared to around 15% in the first half of 2021-22 and 2020-21, when the pandemic struck, according to SEPC. Highest ever Indian footfall in Oman; exceeding 1.10 lakh Indian visitors

Oman recorded 794,000 inbound travellers till the end of the end of May 2022. As many as 111,883 Indian travelers visited Oman till the end of May 2022 as compared to 24,881 recorded in April this year.
