Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta Hails Sewa Parv at National Gallery of Modern Art as a Remarkable Success

The National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA), New Delhi, successfully hosted Sewa Parv today to celebrate the 75th birth anniversary of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

On this occasion, Dr. Sanjeev Kishor Goutam, Director General of NGMA, welcomed the Hon’ble Chief Minister with an angavastra and a floral bouquet. In his welcome address, he also highlighted and appreciated the numerous new initiatives being undertaken under her leadership in Delhi.

Thousands of artists, youth participants, and cultural representatives participated in the event to realise the vision of a developed India through creative expression. More than 15,000 artists, youth, and cultural contributors showcased their art at the event. The distinguished presence of Padma Shri awardees Shri Shyam Sunder Sharma, Shri Vasudeo Kamath, and spiritual speaker Sushri Chitralekha Ji added grandeur to the celebration.

The event featured a Painting Workshop and Competition on the theme “Sewa Parv: Vision of Viksit Bharat.” Professional artists, art college professors and students, school teachers and children, and emerging voices in the art community came together to depict the spirit of service and the vision of a developed India on canvas.

Inspired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047, the celebration brought together communities, institutions, and artists in a collective expression of service, cultural pride, and creativity.

After the event, Hon’ble Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta said: “I congratulate you all on today’s competition, Viksit Bharat ke Rang, Kala ke Sang, where you showcased the image of a New Bharat through painting and art”. She also extended her congratulations to Ms. Lily Pandeya, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture; Dr. Sanjeev Kishore Goutam, Director General, NGMA; Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, IGNCA; Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal, Vice Chairman, NDMC for their presence and support.

Sharing her reflections, Sushri Chitralekha Ji said: “An artist is someone who gives society and the nation a new vision. I always say, the way you create a painting is the way you shape your character, art plays a significant role in building human character.

As we celebrate Navratri, the portrayal of the many forms of the feminine power has also been beautifully brought alive by the artists here.”

To encourage participation and recognise creativity, attractive prizes were awarded across categories. Among professional artists, six first prizes of ₹1,00,000 each, six second prizes of ₹50,000 each, and six third prizes of ₹25,000 each were presented. College students received six first prizes of ₹25,000 each, six second prizes of ₹15,000 each, and six third prizes of ₹10,000 each. School students were honoured with six first prizes of ₹10,000 each, six second prizes of ₹5,000 each, and six third prizes of ₹2,500 each, along with four consolation prizes of ₹1,000 each.

The event concluded with appreciation for the artist community, ministry officials, and cultural contributors whose support made the celebration a historic occasion in honour of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s 75th birth anniversary.
