KTO unveils 2025 strategy at Mumbai roadshow, aimed at attracting more Indian visitors

Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), in collaboration with OTOAI, hosted the Korea Tourism Roadshow in Mumbai on 14 February, 2025, reinforcing its commitment to the Indian travel trade and presenting programmes aimed at further boosting Indian tourist arrivals to South Korea. Myong Kil Yun, Regional Director, India & SAARC Countries, KTO, said, “South Korea’s growing popularity among Indian travellers is a testament to the strong partnership we share with the Indian travel trade. With evolving traveller preferences and increasing demand for unique experiences, we are committed to providing our partners with tailored support, from exclusive training programmes to performance-based incentives.” Talking about the Roadshow in Mumbai, Himanshu Patil, President, OTOAI, said, “This partnership between OTOAI and KTO has the potential to significantly boost outbound tourism from India to Korea, unlocking opportunities for both travel operators and tourists. With the rising popularity of Korean entertainment in India and the increasing awareness of the country’s rich cultural heritage and unique culinary experiences, Indian tourists are showing greater interest in visiting Korea. South African Tourism concludes 10th ‘Learn SA’ Workshop in Kochi

South Africa Tourism highlights its rich culture and natural beauty, educating the Indian travel trade on lesser-known regions of the country South African Tourism concluded the third leg of its 10th edition of the ‘Learn South Africa’ workshop in Kochi, following successful events in Chandigarh and Nagpur. This initiative aimed to engage key travel trade partners across India, particularly focusing on the growing interest from tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Over 100 travel trade partners from Kochi participated in the event, offering beyond its well-known destinations like Cape Town and Johannesburg and helping them to gain insights into South Africa’s hidden gems such as Eastern Cape, Free State, and KwaZulu-Natal India remains one of the largest source markets for South Africa, with increasing interest from smaller cities like Kochi. Indian travellers are on the lookout for diverse experiences that range from thrilling adventures to rich cultural explorations. In response to this demand, the workshop equipped travel partners with the necessary knowledge and tools to create customised itineraries tailored for travellers in India. A Thai Invitation for the Indian Travel Trade

Tourism Authority of Thailand recently hosted the Amazing Thailand Roadshow to India in Lucknow on 21 August, 2024 and Chandigarh on 23 August, 2024 to promote the country’s diverse offerings for the Indian travellers. The events started with a B2B session providing a platform for Indian travel agents to connect with Thai tourism representatives, including hoteliers, attraction operators, destination management companies and airlines. Deputy Executive Director highlighted Thailand’s latest tourism developments Phimpha Ratanapruk, Deputy Executive Director, ASEAN, South Asia, South Pacific Department, Tourism Authority of Thailand, in her opening remarks welcomed the travel trade in both cities. She highlighted the Amazing Thailand Product with latest developments in Thai tourism, including new destinations, products, and experiences, with a special focus on the country’s Wellness Tourism offerings. India’s growing importance as a Thailand tourism market Siriges-a-nong Trirattanasongpol, Director, Tourism Authority of Thailand, New Delhi, dwelled upon the significance of Indian visitors to Thailand and expressed gratitude for the continued support of the Indian travel trade in making Thailand the preferred holiday destination for Indians.  Presently, India holds the third position among Thailand’s inbound tourist markets.
