LOT Polish Airlines will add Rome Fiumicino to its global route network from Warsaw Chopin Airport from 30 October 2023. India-originating passengers can fly with LOT Polish Airlines from Delhi and Mumbai to Warsaw and then, after a short stopover, conveniently continue to their onward destination in the Eternal City of Rome. The new daily flights connect Warsaw Chopin Airport with Rome Fiumicino (FCO). Passengers from Mumbai (Sundays and Wednesdays) and Delhi (Fridays) can for example seamlessly connect in Warsaw On the other days of the week, LOT Polish Airlines departs Warsaw at 7:15h in the morning, arriving in Rome at 9:25h local time, hence ideal for those guests with a stopover in Poland. All flights are operated with modern, fuel-efficient Boeing 737MAX8 aircraft. LOT Boeing 737MAX8 aircrafts include 186 seats in a two-cabin configuration (LOT Business Class and LOT Economy Class) including complimentary on-board service in Economy Class. The Boeing 737MAX8 cabin features the Boeing Sky Interior concept with ergonomically designed seats, eye-friendly lighting, and spacious luggage compartments. Star Alliance Invitational Golf tournament 2018 was organised for corporate clients at Delhi Golf Club recently. The event was a great opportunity for the 28 Star Alliance member airlines to network with the corporate community and educate them about benefits of Star Alliance. The game of golf was followed up by an awards function in various categories with a gala lunch. The pleasant weather, great food and great sitting at the Delhi Golf Club was a treat to the players. Ethiopian Airlines and South African Airways, both members of Star Alliance, have entered into an expanded codeshare agreement, inked on October 01, 2016 and projected to be effective as of 2017 summer season. The revamped codeshare agreement is anticipated to further enhance the cooperation among the two carriers and avail a range of additional destinations for customers to travel to. Girma Shiferaw, A/Vice President Strategic Planning and Alliances, Ethiopian, remarked, “As a successful Pan-African carrier, we have an unshakable stance to work in collaboration with all African carriers. Therefore, revamping the already existing codeshare agreement with our partner, South African Airways, emanates from our common ambition and joint effort to expand our footprint to different destinations and better serve our esteemed customers globally. The expanded codeshare agreement between the two carriers enables our customers enjoy the best possible connectivity options to multiple destinations and also plays a significant role in enabling greater people-to-people, investment, trade and tourism ties within Africa as well as with the rest of the World.” Ethiopian Airlines and South African Airways signed the first codeshare agreement on 17, September 2003 and extended codeshare agreement on October 01, 2016 on destinations such as Cape Town, Durban and Toronto. Jeffrey Goh has been appointed as Star Alliance’s Chief Executive, effective January 1, 2017, to succeed Mark Schwab, who will retire at the end of the year. Jeffrey Goh (47) will head Star Alliances Services GmbH, the Germany-based brand and project management company which coordinates the activities of the world’s largest and most experienced airline alliance. Jeffrey Goh is currently Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel of Star Alliance, with responsibilities including strategy and membership development, human resources, joint sourcing and fuel-related projects, as well as legal, finance and project Management. Jeffrey Goh joined Star Alliance in 2007 from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and prior to that taught and practised law. He holds a doctorate in the principles and policies of regulating airline competition and regulation. “This early decision lays the groundwork for a smooth leadership transition at the top of the Alliance’s management company”, said Calin Rovinescu, Chairman of the Chief Executive Board. “Mark Schwab led the Alliance through an important period. After more than a decade of adding new member airlines in significant and strategic markets around the globe, the focus of the Alliance has shifted to a closer integration of customer-facing services, systems and processes.
