Strengthens commitment to the Indian market by upgrading aircraft on the Mumbai-Hanoi route, enhancing capacity and comfort with the most modern A350 and B787 aircraft Vietnam Airlines, the flag carrier of Vietnam, announced the upgrade of its aircraft on the Mumbai to Hanoi route, effective 1 May, 2025. Starting 1 May, the flights will operate four times a week using the state-of-the-art Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 aircraft. Vietnam Airlines started its maiden flight from New Delhi to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh on 15 May. Nguyen Trung Hieu, Country Manager India, Vietnam Airlines, said, “The move symbolises our commitment to providing passengers with world-class travel experiences.” They have also opened an informative centre for travellers’ convenience.

Vietnam Airlines has inaugurated the Mumbai – Hanoi route, the second route of Vietnam Airlines connecting Vietnam and India, after the capital New Delhi. Trinh Ngoc Thanh, Deputy CEO, of Vietnam Airlines, said, “Vietnam Airlines demonstrates its commitment to constantly expanding its network, giving passengers better flexibility and connectivity when traveling for business as well as tourism. Vietnam Airlines is pleased to announce 3 additional  flights to their existing flight schedule of 4 flights a week, making it a Daily flight service between Delhi-Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh City effective March 26, 2023. The new flight schedule provide non-stop flight services with 4 non-stop flights a week on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Sunday between Delhi & Hanoi and 3 non-stop flights every week on every Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday between Delhi & Ho Chi Minh City, to meet the demand and facilitate travel between the two countries. Vietnam Airlines has withdrawn its IATA commission for travel agents applicable for all tickets issued in India, effective July 15, 2018. According to a statement released by the airline, the commission will be reduced from the existing 3 per cent to 0 per cent. Earlier, Oman Air, Jet Airways and Etihad have also have withdrawn IATA commission for agents.
