68% travel leaders forecast higher spend from consumers on their future travel plans

New research by Sabre identifies prominent shifts in travel. The results indicate that revenge travel with the objective of making up for lost time is a meaningful phenomenon, with 68% of travel leaders responding that they are forecasting a higher spend from consumers on their future travel plans. More than a third of airline and agency leaders participating in the survey indicated that they believe travel will return to pre-pandemic levels by the end of 2024; a further third responded that they believe this will happen in 2025 or beyond.

Maharashtra Tourism organised a mother’s day event in Mother’s day week as a treat to moms in a Bollywood style. The mommy bloggers were shown around the Bollywood Theme Park created at Filmcity, Goregaon, on Thursday, 5th May 2022. Around 20 bloggers from Bloggers Meet Info (BMI) community participated in the event. The event started with delicious lunch treat to the mommies followed by 7D theatre experience at the park. They found it thrilling, exciting and entertaining. Most of them experienced 7D for the first time. In Croma theatre they learnt how film footages are shot, edited in VFX and the secrets of foley sounds used in movies to create dramatic effect. An AV on the history of Indian Cinema in a vintage Bollywood style theatre was shown to them. The participants had a fun time enjoying filmy performances of the troop. The park had huge beautifully created sets of different themes along with costumes of popular film characters on display for trial purpose. Dummy bollywood artists were also present to entertain them with their tricks and acts. Goa tourism to appoint agency for integrated management of beaches, says tourism minister

Goa Tourism Minister Rohan Khaunte said an agency would be appointed for integrated management of beaches, which would include round the clock cleaning of the shoreline. “The integrated module for beach management will include tourism information centre, convenience centre, beach cleaning round the clock, surveillance cameras, proper illumination. Since police can’t be posted round the clock at beaches, the tourism department will employ personnel to curb illegal activities like touting, unauthorized vending,” the minister said.

NTAGI to contemplate early administration of precautionary vaccine dose for international travel

National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) is likely to decide to reduce the gap between the second dose of COVID-19 vaccine and the precaution dose from nine to six months. The health ministry has received several representations seeking to allow the administration of the precaution dose of Covid vaccine to those who are compelled to travel urgently because of employment, for admission to foreign educational institutions, for participation in sports tournaments, as part of India’s delegation in bilateral or multilateral meetings, or for business commitments.
