Delving into the dilemma dividing sustainable travel in 2023, Booking.com finds that a majority of Indian travellers (97%) say they want to travel more sustainably, while 84% think the global energy crisis and rising cost of living is impacting their spending plans. However, 66% of Indians believing more sustainable travel options are too expensive.

Marriott will open 15 hotels this year in South Asia across its luxury, premium and select brand segments. It also plans the brand debut of Moxy in India with the anticipated openings of Moxy Bengaluru Airport Prestige Tech Cloud and Moxy Mumbai Andheri West in 2024.

The latest report by Noesis titled ‘India Hospitality Overview 2022’ says that period, the Indian hotel industry is showing signs of gaining momentum. In 2022, the industry experienced a critical year with unique opportunities, and domestic businesses seized the chance with 66% of hotel signings. Meanwhile, international brands signed 44% of the total keys, resulting in the opening of 10,138 keys. This exciting future is set to continue with a pipeline of 7,163 keys being added from 2023 onwards.
