Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa, India, said, “Tourism holds a unique place in India’s economy, creating 11 indirect jobs for every direct job. For inclusive growth, no sector matches the potential of tourism. To build a $30 trillion economy by 2047, India’s tourism must grow 22 times, and that requires skill development and creating unique, state-specific experiences, ensuring we drive not just jobs but unforgettable experiences.”

Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa, said, “By 2035, India is projected to provide 30 per cent of the world’s skilled manpower, a number of our experts in various sectors like hospitality will emerge from India. It is not just about producing manpower; it is about producing the best talent.” He was speaking at WTTCII event.

Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa, India in his inaugural speech at FHRAI Summit in Delhi, said, “In due course, India will become the third country in the world to have the third-largest greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, India must become the first country in the world to grow its GDP through decarbonization.”

At FHRAI’s ‘Travel For Life Tourism Sustainability’ Summit 2024, Amitabh Kant, G-20 Sherpa, India, said that the hospitality industry is the number one agent of change. “Indian tourism and hospitality industry must focus on the value per tourist instead of arrival numbers,” he shared in his address.

Addressing the dignitaries and alumni at IHM, Mumbai, Amitabh Kant, G-20 India Sherpa, said, “With India set to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2027, there will be a surge in Indian travellers globally, leading to more opportunities and responsibilities for the hospitality sector.”

Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa India, addressed the delegates at the side event on Film Tourism for Economic Growth and Cultural Preservation at the 3rd TWG meeting in Srinagar, where he highlighted that the pristine beauty of Jammu and Kashmir has the potential to pose itself as a film tourism destination.

Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa, said, “Through G20 each state is promoting its own district, product and culture and that is leading to every state becoming a brand by itself. The G20’s impact is that many states are building up their own brands to penetrate global markets.” 

Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa, India said, “Digital transformation will be a very critical driver of growth. In 2047 India will be the youngest country in the world. We will be a provider of almost 25% of the workforce in the world.” 

Amitabh Kant, G20 Sherpa, India, has said that Global M!CE business is worth ₹52 lakh crore today. “G20 events offer states an opportunity to showcase their capability to host such events. Similarly, through proactive measures, states can hope for a bigger share of the ₹440 lakh crore global tourism, travel, leisure and wellness industry.”

Amitabh Kant Former Chief Executive Officer, NITI Aayog said “We brought back Ayurveda to the centre stage as an alternative medicine form. We are seeing a big focus on wellness, and a demand for experiences that are personalised.”
