Clarks Inn Suites takes a new property in Jaipur

Clarks Inn Suites signs a new property and enters pink city, Jaipur. The luxury property will cater to luxury travelers, corporates, and clients seeking out destination weddings. The brand already has multiple properties spread across the country but Jaipur being the preferred wedding destination, propelled the brand to open doors here. It is close to the corporate hub and lies on the Ajmer road. The property will have 88 rooms spread across categories. They will also have two banquet halls spread out at 2000 sqft and one banquet hall of 4000 sqft. The banquet halls will be equipped to handle large gatherings, they will have a swimming pool, gym, sauna, lawn, lounge bar, and coffee shop. They will have an open coffee lounge area, where guests can enjoy their coffee while watching the setting sun in the Jaipur sky. Mr.Prakash Bedi, Vice President, of Clarks Inn and Suites shares, “We are planning to expand pan India and targeting 65% occupancy in the coming financial year. We believe experience plays an important role in the hospitality industry, and we are designing personalized itineraries for our guests. We plan to showcase our newly signed property as a major hub for mice and weddings. HRAWI reclassifies 13 hotels under global norms

The Hotel and Restaurant Association of Western India (HRAWI) certified 13 hotels in Maharashtra under new norms which are more contemporary and global in standards as compared to existing ratings. As per the new norms, hotel properties will be classified, rated or graded under six categories listed as Budget, Classic, Premium, Luxury, Deluxe Luxury and Primo Luxury, and will be uniform for both domestic and foreign tourists. “The objective behind developing the IHQS is to educate our members on modern quality standards as well as reduce the burden of the Ministry of Tourism (MoT). The Government can now focus on improving and promoting tourism, while, we from the industry, are doing our bit to support the initiative,” says Dilip Datwani, President, HRAWI. The Shalimar Hotel, The Fern Residency, Golden Swan Beach Resort, The Emerald, Peninsula Grand Hotel, Sun-N-Sand Hotel, Holiday Inn Mumbai international Airport, Waterstones Hotel, T24 Residency, Hotel Transit, Hotel Meluha, Renaissance Mumbai Hotel and Convention Centre and Hyatt Place are among the first hotels to have been audited as per the new classification standards and have been officially certified as of October 25, 2017.

Anuraag Bhatnagar to lead Marriott’s luxury portfolio in India

Marriott International has appointed Anuraag Bhatnagar as Multi-Property Vice President, Luxury, India. He will be part of the Luxury APEC Market leadership team led by Victor Clavell. Bhatnagar has been with Legacy Starwood for 16 years now. He previously served as the Area General Manager of India and concurrently the General Manager of The St. Regis Mumbai. In the role, he successfully handled 12 hotels in six different cities of all Legacy Starwood brands including the core responsibility of leading the first St. Regis property launched in South Asia in 2015, as General Manager. A doyen of the hospitality industry with an innate understanding of the luxury landscape, Bhatnagar will now be at the helm of Marriott International’s luxury portfolio for the Indian market. He was also the Legacy Starwood Security Champion for South Asia and a member of OSAC (Overseas Security Advisory Council), United States Department of States Bureau of Diplomatic Security.
