Exploring Oman: MHT invites Indian trade for an enchanting experience

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Sultanate of Oman, recently played host to a remarkable mega trade Familiarization (FAM) trip, welcoming 14 trade partners from across India. This six-night tour showcased the diverse and breathtaking landscapes of Oman, featuring prominent destinations such as Jebel Akhdar, Wahiba Sands, Salalah, and Muscat. One of the highlights of the FAM trip was a dynamic Business-to-Business (B2B) meeting on the final day of the trip, which provided a platform for meaningful interactions and partnerships. A total of 35 partners from Oman actively participated in this event. Indian participants were given the opportunity to represent their companies and establish valuable links with local businesses, including Destination Management Companies (DMCs), hotels, and suppliers. This exchange of information and ideas fostered new collaborations and opportunities, strengthening the relations between the two countries. “The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is dedicated to showcasing the incredible beauty and unique experiences that Oman has to offer,” said Arjun Chaddha, Country Manager, India. “We are confident that the connections forged during this FAM trip will lead to an increased number of travellers from India exploring the marvels of Oman. The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Sultanate of Oman, recently organized a highly successful familiarization (FAM) trip for wedding planners from India. This tour encompassed visits to cities such as Muscat, Jabal Akhdar, and Salalah, with the aim of showcasing Oman as an ideal wedding destination and highlighting its diverse offerings. The FAM tour was graciously hosted by esteemed hotels, including Kempinski Muscat, DusitD2 Naseem Resort, Anantara, and Alila Salalah. The wedding planners thoroughly enjoyed their stays at these properties. They also had the opportunity to explore various venues within the hotels that were well-suited for wedding ceremonies and pre-wedding events. Furthermore, renowned properties such as Crown Plaza Muscat, W Muscat, Jumeirah, Al Bustan Palace, Shangri-La, Sheraton, Alila, and Anantara Jabal Akhdar showcased their respective venues suitable for weddings. Anantara Al Baleed Resort Salalah went above and beyond by arranging a picturesque wedding dinner setup on the beach for the wedding planners, leaving them pleasantly surprised and thoroughly delighted with the beachside dining experience. These experiences led the wedding planners to perceive Oman as an ideal destination for Indian weddings, owing to its luxurious offerings, hassle-free visa procedures, and excellent accessibility. Oman Tourism concludes its roadshow in India with a great event in Mumbai Revives confidence in Oman as a tourist destination of choice

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Sultanate of Oman recently concluded its four-city India roadshow in Mumbai. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from the travel trade. The roadshow commenced with Delhi on 24th July 2023 followed by the cities of Jaipur, Kolkata and in Mumbai. In attendance at the roadshow were 12 private players from Oman that include Al Bustan Palace, A Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Bahwan Tourism, Crown Plaza Muscat, DusitD2 Naseem Resort and Jabal Akhdar, Kempinski Hotel, Khimji’s House of Travel, Magic Travels, Sama Travel & Tourism, Tour Oman – Travel Point and Zahara Tours. The two airlines, Oman Air, the national carrier and Salam Air, the first low-cost carrier in the region also had key representatives present including the delegation from the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. The event, which saw a strong turnout, facilitated successful business interactions between the Indian travel trade and Oman Tourism officials. Agents displayed confidence in promoting Oman as a top-notch tourist destination, particularly for its natural wonders, rich culture, and thrilling adventure activities. Commenting on the roadshow, Asma Al Hajry, Deputy DG of Tourism Promotions, Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Sultanate of Oman said: “The recent roadshow held in Delhi for Oman Tourism was a tremendous success, leaving us elated with the positive response. Oman Tourism showcases country to Indian Travel CEOs

The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Sultanate of Oman hosted six Indian CEOs, two MBR Company officials, and one Oman Air-India representative on a FAM trip to Oman from 8 October to 11, 2022. They conducted onsite inspections in and around Muscat. They also stopped at the Chedi site, Birkat Al Mouz, Nizwa Souq, and Wadi Bani Khalid. The group then proceeded for hotel inspections, local cultural events, and culinary tours. Oman provides a selection of hotels and locations for various events. The group visited reputed hotels such as Jebel Akhdar, W Hotel, and Desert Rose Camp among others, which were elegant and appealing and were of the highest international standards. The CEOs were delighted to experience delicious Indian food in Oman. They found the food at various locations exceeded their expectations. The food given to vegetarians during the tour came for special mention, especially the breakfast buffet at Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar. All hotels, without exception served a wide variety of food, especially the vegetarian spread. The CEOs were informed that Oman can be reached in about 2-3 hours via flights from many Indian cities. The CEOs were happy with the hospitable behaviour of the personnel at the mammoth Muscat International Airport. The tour guides and drivers who took the visitors to various destinations were courteous and informative.
