While presenting State Budget FY2025-26, Diya Kumari, Minister of Finance, Rajasthan, announced that tourism infrastructure projects worth ₹975 crore will be taken into consideration. 10 sites to be developed as iconic tourist destinations for promoting heritage tourism. A tribal tourist circuit will be built for ₹100 crore. Further, an Aero City will be set up near the Kota airport.

Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi urged the Centre to announce a special package for the eastern state, stating that about ₹10,000 crore of investment was needed to create a world-class tourism infrastructure in Odisha. He made the demand at the pre-budget consultation meeting with Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister of Finance at Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.

Manisha Saxena, Director General of Tourism, Government of India said, “To bridge the gap between overseas and domestic promotions in the field of tourism, the overall budget for tourism has been increased”. It is only the distribution between domestic and international that has changed, she added.
