Noting that boosting connectivity infrastructure has been a major focus of the government, the Prime Minister’s Office said the new facility, built at a cost of around Rs 710 crore, will play a key role in enhancing connectivity and accommodating 50 lakh visitors annually.

As a part of initiative towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat, MOT launched strategy for promoting and developing rural homestays. The intent is to provide vital financial, technical and marketing assistance to boost rural homestays in India and foster authentic rural experience.

The newsletter was unveiled by the Secretary to the Govt of Assam, Tourism Department,  Kumar Padmapani Bora in Kolkata in the presence of Ranuj Kumar Borkotoky, Director, Tourism and Samprity Goswami, Deputy Secretary, Tourism. The newsletter will contain activities, industry news and other curated contents related to the industry in Assam. TOAA Advisor and Editor of the newsletter, Ranjeet Das mentioned, “Our endevour will be to make this newsletter a highly informative, upbeat series, containing inspirational articles for our readers.” Arijit Purkayastha, one of the editorial board members further informed, ” The newsletter is also embedded in TOAA website www.toaa.in for our online readers. We wish to reach out to the worldwide platform to promote Assam’s tourism avenues.”

Domestic air passengers were 760.93 lakhs up till June 2023 as against 572.49 lakhs in 2022; registers annual growth of 32.92 % and monthly growth of 18.78 %.

Sharing future plans, Vinod Kannan, Chief Executive Officer, Vistara, has said that they are awaiting delivery of three Boeing 787 Dreamliner Aircraft for their fleet. The airline is looking at connecting Paris and Frankfurt with Mumbai soon and expanding its fleet, he revealed.

It is an emblem of development in the realm of aviation. Jyotiraditya Scindia, Minister said, “A big step for boosting aviation sector”.
