Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy said that the centre provides 100% finance to the state to implement the tourism-related schemes. And, more than Rs 4000 crore is being spent to develop infrastructure for adventure tourism in border villages. 

WTTC’s 2023 Economic Impact Research reveals the Travel & Tourism sector is close to its 2019 peak, recovering over 95%. It’s expected to reach $9.5TN in 2023, just 5% below pre-pandemic levels. 34 countries surpassed 2019 levels. The sector is also predicted to recover 95% of its 2019 job level. 

Rajasthan aims to promote water activities and golf tourism alongside its existing attractions. Stakeholders predict a bright future for golf tourism in the state, with the RTDC already issuing an EOI for interested parties to develop and operate golf courses. 

The Tripura government plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore to improve tourism infrastructure and make the state a world-class destination. Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury expressed confidence that the funding will be sufficient for a tourism boom, with support from the Centre.

From 1 May to 30 September 2023, visitors to Mount Faber Peak, Harbourfront and Sentosa will catch a glimpse of a rare sight – an eye-catching line of 67 Poké Ball cabins soaring 100 metres above sea level. The exteriors of cable car cabins on the Mount Faber Line will be wrapped in the recognisable red and white colours of Poké Balls. Much like the inspiration behind their outward appearance, inside each cabin awaits a surprise — five different interior designs, each themed around first-generation Pokémon like Pikachu and Eevee, as well as Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly from the latest Pokémon video games. Families and fans of Pokémon will experience something new each time they ride on the Singapore Cable Car, marvelling at a vibrant assemblage of newly-installed beautiful, multicoloured lights at Mount Faber Station, Harbourfront Station and Sentosa Station. Arvind Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, said that India plans to develop 50 new tourism destinations across the country and envisages making 59 new air routes operational to boost tourism in the country. “We plan to promote Green Tourism and open 50 new tourism destinations and launch publicity in the overseas market,” he said.
