The temple city’s Rs 339-crore project has been completed in less than three years as planned, despite the COVID pandemic, PM Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the Kashi Vishwanath corridor during his two-day visit to Varanasi. In his address, he stated that a new history is being created with the project. He also urged Indians to make a commitment to sanitation, innovation, and an Atmanirbhar Bharat.

The Dutch Minister announced that, effective February 1, 2022, the country’s authorities will only recognise COVID-19 vaccination certificates that indicate a booster shot. All those who wish to travel to or within the EU must receive a booster shot nine months after their second vaccine dose in order for their pass to be accepted, or else they must present a negative COVID-19 test result.

The new Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) between Singapore and Sri Lanka now allows fully vaccinated travellers quarantine-free access to both countries. This was highlighted for the travel trade in a webinar titled ‘Welcome Back to Singapore’, organised by STB, Singapore Airlines and Changi Airport Group. All short-term visitors and long-term pass holders are required to have a Vaccinated Travel Pass and fulfil VTL conditions in order to qualify for quarantine-free travel under the VTL.

Tourism remains a strong growth market in the long term. It benefits from overarching social trends that will continue to intensify in the coming years. In the financial year 2021, 5.4 million guests travelled with TUI. In a meeting of the Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Minister of Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, said that India’s scheduled airlines have a fleet of 710 aircraft which is projected to grow to over 1000 aircraft in the next five years.
