India Tourism Mart (ITM) 2021 will be held from 18th – 20th February. The event will be mostly virtual, and some part of it will be hybrid. Subhash Goyal, Secretary-General, FAITH, revealed, “This year’s ITM will be slightly hybrid, but 90% virtual. We are expecting around 500 international buyers and around 100-200 domestic buyers.”

GB Srithar, Regional Director, India, Middle East & South Asia, Singapore Tourism Board, has revealed that they are expecting 40+ Singapore tourism stakeholders (comprising attractions, DMCs and hotels) to network and re-engage with the travel trade in India at the Singapore Virtual Tradeshow. The virtual event is scheduled on January, 12th, 15th, 19th and 21st for South, North, West and East India respectively. “Themed “Charting Our Pathways to Tourism Recovery”, we will present latest developments in Singapore and share information on some of the product enhancements by the stakeholders with safe management measures in place,” he said.

STB India Roadshow 2021, a 4-day roadshow will see tourism stakeholders from Singapore engage with travel agents and tour operators from India from different regions on different days. GB Srithar, Regional Director, India, Middle East & South Asia- Singapore Tourism Board, calls out to the travel trade saying, “The theme of the roadshow is – Charting our Pathways to Tourism Recovery’. The dates are spread out so that we can engage by region and we can have a deeper and more engaged conversations. It is going to be our way of reconnecting with Indian travel trade early in the year.” On 12th January, 2021, the roadshow will be for South India; on 15th January, 2021 for North India; on 19th January for West India and for East India on 21st January.

Day one of the Virtual Spanish Travel Show saw more than 750 buyers from across the Indian subcontinent including  India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka meet 20 Spanish suppliers and conducted more than 2100 one-on-one meetings. KTM Virtual 2020 which was to be held from November 23-27 has been postponed to first quarter of next year due to the pandemic. The new dates will be announced later. Registrations will however remain open. KTM 2020 was originally supposed to be held in Kochi on Sept 24-27, 2020 before it announced its virtual version. The timings for the five-day virtual event will be from 12 noon to 12 midnight, in line with the different time zones of the buyers.

The two-day Gulf Travel Show (GTS) concluded successfully with more than 2,500 buyers from 59 countries who met 40 exhibitors from across the world. The first-ever two-day virtual event of the region witnessed more than 3,000 one-to-one meetings between suppliers and travel agents, tour operators, tourism boards, airlines, hotels, TMCs and international agencies.
