Tourism Authority of Thailand recently hosted the Amazing Thailand Roadshow to India in Lucknow on 21 August, 2024 and Chandigarh on 23 August, 2024 to promote the country’s diverse offerings for the Indian travellers. The events started with a B2B session providing a platform for Indian travel agents to connect with Thai tourism representatives, including hoteliers, attraction operators, destination management companies and airlines. Deputy Executive Director highlighted Thailand’s latest tourism developments Phimpha Ratanapruk, Deputy Executive Director, ASEAN, South Asia, South Pacific Department, Tourism Authority of Thailand, in her opening remarks welcomed the travel trade in both cities. She highlighted the Amazing Thailand Product with latest developments in Thai tourism, including new destinations, products, and experiences, with a special focus on the country’s Wellness Tourism offerings. India’s growing importance as a Thailand tourism market Siriges-a-nong Trirattanasongpol, Director, Tourism Authority of Thailand, New Delhi, dwelled upon the significance of Indian visitors to Thailand and expressed gratitude for the continued support of the Indian travel trade in making Thailand the preferred holiday destination for Indians. Presently, India holds the third position among Thailand’s inbound tourist markets. To update the Kolkata Travel trade about the gradual re-opening of Thailand for tourism from India, Tourism Authority of Thailand New Delhi supported by Royal Thai Consulate Kolkata, organized the Amazing Thailand Presentation & Networking Lunch at ITC Royal Bengal on 10th November 2021. Around 75 guests including travel agents, media and wedding planners attended the event. The session started with a welcome address Kasemsan Thongsiri, Acting Consul General – Royal Thai Consulate, Kolkata, who spoke about the consulate matters focusing on their efforts and procedures to assist travel to Thailand for Indians. He also informed the trade about updated guidelines on entering Thailand, protocol for travellers from India as well as documents and process for obtaining Thailand pass and visa. Next information on Thailand Re-opening and situation update was given by Vachirachai Sirisumpan, Director- Tourism Authority of Thailand – New Delhi. He highlighted TAT’s new marketing campaign “Visit Thailand Year 2022” that will emphasize Thailand’s strength in biological diversity and cultural richness under the Amazing New Chapter’s concept. This was followed by a product presentation promoting popular destinations in Thailand like Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket, Koh Samui and Chiang Mai. The presentation also introduced new products and activities in Thailand that Indian travelers could enjoy. Read More »Indian arrivals into Thailand surpass 800,000
Arrivals from India into Thailand have reached over 800,000 by the end of August 2016 while from January to October 22, 2016, the kingdom welcomed 26.4 million tourists in total. An income of 1.31 trillion baht ($37.4 billion) was generated, up 11.82 per cent and 15.59 per cent, respectively. Judging by the growth, TAT Mumbai is positive that India will achieve its arrivals target of 1.1 million by the end of the year. “We remain positive. Indians have become tremendously savvy with checking on the on-ground situation in Thailand rather than falling for the odd sensationalist report that might crop up. We look forward to celebrating 1.1 million arrivals by the end of the year,” says Soraya Homchuen, Director, TAT Mumbai. While officially in mourning, the kingdom’s the Department of Fine Arts, under the Ministry of Culture is giving free access to national museums and historical parks to encourage visitors and locals to learn more about the culture and monarchy.
