Arvind Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, has said that the Mission LiFE by Govt has lot of relevance for travel & tourism. “All the stakeholders can contribute to mission life by adopting responsible tourism practices,” he added.

Arvind Singh, Secretary, Tourism, has said that inbound tourism is projected to recover faster in 2023. “There is a strong interest of the hospitality industry to invest in the North-East and Southern islands which is an encouraging sign,” he said.

Arvind Singh, Secretary, Ministry of Tourism has shared that sustainability commitment needs to come in mainstream in tourism, especially with G20. “There are four tourism track meetings slated to be held during G-20.  It is the ideal time that India should take the leadership position in responsible tourism,” he said.

Arvind Singh, Secretary, MoT said, ‘Everybody wants to mainstream sustainability in all aspects of life, including tourism and highlighted the fact that with G20 around the corner it is important to step up our commitment towards it. He also informed that there are four tourism track meetings slated to be held during G-20. “It is the ideal time that India should take the leadership position in responsible tourism”, he added. 

Arvind Singh, Secretary, Tourism, at the ITM in Aizawl, Mizoram, shared that sustainability has been a priority for the travel, tourism, and hospitality sector for some time, but it has become even more prominent due to the pandemic. “The Government of India is now focused on promoting the move towards green tourism. Green tourism has the potential to catalyse local economies, while also minimising the environmental and social impacts,” he added.

Arvind Singh, Secretary, Tourism has said that Indian tourism industry contributes to around 4.7 percent of the country’s GDP and provides employment to around 31.8 million of inhabitants. “If tourism’s contribution is increased to 10 per cent of GDP in India, it can create 26 million new jobs,” he added.

Arvind Singh, Secretary, Tourism, is leading this year’s Indian delegation at WTM, which is being held in London till 9 November. The delegation also includes Rakesh Verma, Additional Secretary, Tourism, and other senior officials from the Ministry, besides representatives from the Indian travel and tourism stakeholders.

Arvind Singh, Secretary, Tourism, has said that India’s global tourism indices will go up by improving the safety and security aspects of tourism and would go a long way in making India one of the favourable destinations. He urged all the tourism stakeholders to work closely and strengthen the security aspect of the tourist destinations.

Ministry is employing locally trained professionals at tourist sites, providing employment to locals there near their homes. “Employment generation in the tourism sector is one of the key agendas of our ministry.” said Secretary Tourism Arvind Singh. 

Arvind Singh, Secretary, Tourism, has said that we should use G20 Presidency to project the strong cases of our nation and showcase the country to the global leaders. “If we are successful in doing that, I am sure it would take our tourism sector to the next level.”
