According to FCM, Global hotel occupancy in the first quater was 63.3% which is 96% recovered to 2019. In Asia, India had the highest occupancy with Mumbai reaching 101%, New Delhi at 97%, followed by China with Shanghai at 95%, and Beijing at 93%. 

HVS ANAROCK’S latest monthly newsletter titled ‘Hotels & Hospitality Overview India’ reveals that the hotel occupancy rate in May 2020 witnessed a y-o-y drop of 76.7 per cent compared to the same period last year, making India rank fourth among five key Asian markets, followed by Thailand.

Hotel occupancy in India declined by 0.15% in January 2020 as compared to December 2019, reveals Hotels & Hospitality Overview (H2O), the monthly update report by HVS. However, the occupancy was up by 0.50% as compared to January 2019. The RevPAR in January 2020 also declined by 2.23% as compared to December 2019, reveals the report.
