Kochi registers 7% y-o-y increase in hotel occupancy rate, followed by Hyderabad & Mumbai: HVS Anarock

HVS Anarock in its ‘Hotels & Hospitality Overview’ of June stated that Kochi registered the highest increase in occupancy rate, growing by 7% year-on-year, a notable rise compared to other cities. Meanwhile, both Hyderabad and Mumbai experienced declines in y-o-y occupancy rates but saw substantial increase in average rates, with Hyderabad leading with over a 9% y-o-y increase and Mumbai up by 7%.

Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai report over 80% occupancy rates in February; ARRs in Delhi, Hyderabad up by 17-18%

The ‘Hotels & Hospitality Overview,’ a report by HVS Anarock states that the hotel occupancy rate in India is nearing pre-pandemic levels, with key markets like Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai reporting occupancy rates of more than 80% in February. The average hotel rates grew by 17-18% in Delhi and Hyderabad, in February 2024.

Jazeera Airways increases the number of flights between Bengaluru and Hyderabad

Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low-cost airline recently increased the frequency of its direct from Bangalore and Hyderabad. The airline now operates 4 flights per week from Bengaluru, and 6 flights per week from Hyderabad. Previously the airline operated two and three flights a week to these popular destinations. Nok Air has launched maiden direct thrice weekly flight from Hyderabad to Bangkok Nok Air has unveiled its maiden flight service to Don Mueang International Airport, Bangkok. Hyderabad Aviation Summit to be organised in March by FTCCI and GMR

Daily non-stop flights from Rajkot to Goa, Hyderabad with SpiceJet

Indian LCC SpiceJet has introduced daily non-stop flights from Rajkot to Goa and Hyderabad. Flights will depart Rajkot at 14:00 hrs for Goa and at 19:45 hrs for Hyderabad. The return flight from Goa will depart at 17:05 hrs and that from Hyderabad will depart at 06:05 hrs. The carrier has also added to its Rajkot-Mumbai frequency, departing at 07:30 hrs and 05:40 hrs, respectively.

Hyderabad expected to recover closest to pre-COVID traffic, Mumbai to be furthest behind

CAPA India reveals that among PPP airports, Hyderabad is expected to recover closest to pre-COVID traffic at 31.3 per cent, while Mumbai will be the furthest behind at 52.3 per cent. This is according to its updated outlook for airports for FY2022. And though Mumbai’s recovery underperforms other metro airports, it may be possible for the airport to accelerate during the year and achieve higher volumes.
