Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), have signed a Vivanta resort in Hampi, Karnataka, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The 80-room resort is a management contract with Dhruvdesh Ventures. Read More »Maharashtra allots 54.40-hectare land to Taj Hotel group for five-star tourism centre
The Maharashtra government has allotted 54.40-hectares of land in Shiroda, Vengurla tehsil of Sindhudurg area to the Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), which runs Taj Hotels, for developing a five-star tourism centre. The land has been given at 90-years lease at a nominal rent for the construction of cottages in Vengurla for tourism development. The proposal of the allotment of land for the construction of the hotel by IHCL was taken after the state government announced Sindhudurg as a tourism district more than two decades ago. After a decision of allotting land to the Taj Group was taken in 1994, the land was acquired in stages till 1998 by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC). Part of the land is in the group’s possession, while it has been pushing for possession of the remaining land. The government has now decided to hand over the remaining part of the plot, which is a connecting track of land to other two plots handed over to the company.

With this addition, IHCL will now have three hotels across two of its brands in the city. Tata group’s Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has retained the iconic Taj Mansingh Hotel after an auction conducted by New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC). “The lease for the property will be granted to the group for 33 years at double the license fees. IHCL will pay a license fee of Rs 7.03 crore per month including GST. Earlier, they were paying Rs 3.94 crore per month as license fee,” a senior NDMC official said. The other bidder in the auction held on September 28 was the ITC group of hotels . The Taj Mansingh was given to the IHCL in 1978 on a lease for 33 years, which ended in 2011. This will be IHCL’s second hotel in Nepal after Meghauli Serai in Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Commenting on the signing of this agreement, Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, IHCL said, “We are honoured to partner with R&R Hotels and Resorts for this new hotel. The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new Taj Hotel at Deira Creek in Dubai in partnership with Ithra Dubai, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD). The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has signed a new Ginger hotel in Visakhapatnam. It will be Ginger’s second hotel in the city. Ginger Hotels’ portfolio has 45 operating hotels and seven hotels in the pipeline. The announcement reflects the company’s strategic domestic expansion to drive growth momentum.
