In an exclusive interview with Kapil Goswamy, Managing Director, Trans India Holidays Pvt, shares, “There is a lot of potential in India’s inbound tourism, but it has not reached to pre pandemic levels due to lack of visibility in international market and high airfares.”

Peter Semone, Chairman, PATA, has said that PTM 2023 has attracted over 1000 delegates from 46 global destinations, which includes 159 sellers from 92 organisations and 15 destinations, along with 196 buyers from 191 organisations and 38 source markets.

Number of FTA’s in India skyrocketed to 6.19 mn, witnessing a substantial increase as compared to 1.52 mn in the year 2021. The top three source countries for FTAs are United States of America, Bangladesh, and United Kingdom, according to MOT data.

Inaugurating the 38th IATO Convention in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (CSN), Sandipanrao Bhumre, Minister- EGS & Horticulture, Maharashtra and Guardian Minister – CSN, said that the event would put focus on tier-II cities for big events and would also attract more tourists.

ForwardKeys revealed that long-haul travel from the UK is 46% ahead of last year and 16% behind 2019. India has gained inbound tourism market share verus 2019 to become the second largest long-haul destination for UK, with a 20% growth on 2019 volumes.
