Rajasthan to launch mini travel marts in Jodhpur & Udaipur to boost domestic tourism

Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary – Tourism, Government of Rajasthan & Chairman, Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) has said that her department is reviving the Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM), which was last held in 2018, to attract domestic buyers and sellers. According to Rathore, Rajasthan Tourism is eying to organise RDTM in February 2022 in association with the Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR) apart from launching small, localised travel marts in booming destinations such as Jodhpur and Udaipur to tap the domestic market in the smaller cities as well.

KJ Alphons inaugurates Jodhpur Institute of Hospitality Management

K J Alphons, Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism, has inaugurated the Institute of Hospitality Management in Jodhpur. Speaking at the event, he said that India is among the fastest growing tourism economies in the world and in 2017, the Indian tourism receipts went up by 20.8 per cent against a global growth rate of 7 per cent. He expressed his hopes for the country to be able to double its inbound revenue in three years.

90-room Zone by The Park, Jodhpur opens doors

The Park Hotels enters Jodhpur with the launch of its second hotel in Rajasthan – ‘Zone by The Park’. TCI opens 3 new outlets in Delhi and one in Rajasthan

Thomas Cook (India) has strengthened its presence with the opening of four new outlets in Delhi’s Rajouri Garden, Pitampura, Lajpat Nagar localities and Jodhpur in Rajasthan. This expansion augments Thomas Cook India’s distribution and reach in North India to 42 consumer access centres: 13 owned branches and 29 Gold Circle Partner (franchise) outlets. Thomas Cook India’s data has revealed high demand from India’s north markets, with strong growth of 25 per cent for January- August 2017 against the same period of the previous year. The year has seen significant uptake for favorites like USA & Canada, UK, France, Switzerland and Asia’s Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia; equally for Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Emerging strongly are destinations like Hungary, Czech Republic, Croatia, Romania, Japan and Bali, as also exotic locales like Georgia and Azerbaijan. Australian hotel management company, StayWell Hospitality Group has extended its international footprint with the opening of its fifth property in Rajasthan, the Leisure Inn Shrey in Jodhpur. Air India’s self check-in kiosks at 26 airports

National carrier, Air India has become the first airline to launch self check-in kiosks for its domestic fliers that aims to make the check-in process expeditious. The exclusive service presently covers 26 domestic centers at Aurangabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Calicut, Coimbatore, Cochin, Chennai, Goa, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jamnagar, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Nagpur, New Delhi, Mumbai, Mangalore, Raipur, Rajkot, Trivandrum, Udaipur, Visakhapatnam and Varanasi. Under this initiative, started on May 1, 2016, customers can procure the boarding pass by using the self-check-in kiosks also known as CUSS (Common Use Self Service) near the check-in area at the airport.
