The fourth consecutive Skydiving Festival with aim to boost adventure tourism and diversify tourism activities in the state. The tourists will gain an exciting opportunity to jump from a height of 10,000 feet and witness the magnificent view of the spiritual city of Ujjain. Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture Department & Managing Director Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, Shri Sheo Shekhar Shukla said “Madhya Pradesh is an offbeat multispecialty destination of first choice and has set astounding tourist footfall records. The sky diving festival in spiritual land of Ujjain will once again offer thrill and entertainment. In view of the success of the first three editions of the Sky-Diving Festival and the enthusiasm of the tourists towards the adventure activity, this year the fourth edition is started in Ujjain. Adventure lovers will be able to experience the thrill of flying in sky during this three-month extravaganza commenced on 09th November 2024 and will conclude on 09th February 2025.” 1000 Participants Expected Sky-high India (organising company) will be using a specially modified Cessna 182P aircraft capable of carrying six people at a time for skydiving. Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) will host its first event in Asia—Adventure Next in Madhya Pradesh from December 10-12, 2018. The event is set to bring together all stakeholders of the adventure travel trade from across the globe. With support from Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), this event will showcase the adventure tourism potential of India. Commenting on the same, Hari Ranjan Rao, Principal Secretary Tourism, Madhya Pradesh Tourism says, “Adventure Next is one of the most important events of ATTA. ATTA has been one of the most front running associations in the adventure travel space across the world, hosting notable events for this segment and we hope to make their visit in India successful in Madhya Pradesh.” Madhya Pradesh, ATOAI and ATTA also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to mark the launch of this event in India. Madhya Pradesh Tourism has been sanctioned Rs 98 crores for wildlife circuit project, and Rs 75 crore for Buddhist circuit under the Swadesh Darshan scheme of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Tanvi Sundriyal, Additional Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation informs, “We have been sanctioned Rs 98 crores for Wildlife Circuit, Rs 75 crores for Buddhist circuit and Rs 98 crores in principle for Heritage circuit.” Sundriyal informs, “Wildlife circuit is the one in which we are adding value to the people visiting the wildlife places by giving them something extra. Buddhist Circuit looks at infrastructure development in various Buddhist oriented sites in Madhya Pradesh. These two have been completely approved but the third one, the Heritage circuit has got an in-principle approval. The places which fall under this circuit are Orchha, Khajuraho, Gwalior, Chanderi, Mandu and lesser known destinations in and around these places.”
