Maharashtra Tourism tops MOT’s Utsav portal with 10 published live darshan listings

Ministry of Tourism launched a website named utsav.gov.in and called for the content of various events and festivals, and live darshan details of temple deities from all the States/UTs. As per the state ranking list revealed by MOT declared Maharashtra as number 1 on the portal with 10 published live darshan listings and, among the top 10 states with 8 published events and festivals’ listings.

Maharashtra Tourism celebrates Mother’s day week as a treat to moms in Bollywood style

Maharashtra Tourism organised a mother’s day event in Mother’s day week as a treat to moms in a Bollywood style. The mommy bloggers were shown around the Bollywood Theme Park created at Filmcity, Goregaon, on Thursday, 5th May 2022. Around 20 bloggers from Bloggers Meet Info (BMI) community participated in the event. The event started with delicious lunch treat to the mommies followed by 7D theatre experience at the park. They found it thrilling, exciting and entertaining. Most of them experienced 7D for the first time. In Croma theatre they learnt how film footages are shot, edited in VFX and the secrets of foley sounds used in movies to create dramatic effect. An AV on the history of Indian Cinema in a vintage Bollywood style theatre was shown to them. The participants had a fun time enjoying filmy performances of the troop. The park had huge beautifully created sets of different themes along with costumes of popular film characters on display for trial purpose. Dummy bollywood artists were also present to entertain them with their tricks and acts. Shreya Gautam, a mommy Influencer said, “We attend several events specially during mother’s day but this initiative by Maharashtra Tourism and Bollywood Park was truly a unique and entertaining experience. I really had a great time making filmy reels on the sets, trying the Jodha Akbar and Mastani’s costume, having a thrilling 7D experience and gaining insights of the film making techniques. With the 9 city road show, Maharashtra seeks to improve trade opportunities in the country

Maharashtra Tourism has initiated a 9 city road show tour across the nation. As a part of this initiative, Maharashtra Tourism conducted a road show in the glorious city of Delhi. Milind Borikar (IAS), Director of the Directorate of Tourism, Govt. of Maharashtra said, “We at Maharashtra Tourism are organizing a road show series with a core motive of promoting tourism industry in Maharashtra and to boost inter-state travel and tourism opportunities. We are happy that post the second Covid wave, hospitality sector in Maharashtra is witnessing a steady increase in recovery and travel companies too are seeing surge in the booking trends. It is astounding to have received such an overwhelming response from Delhi towards Maharashtra Tourism road show and we wish to see the same response from other cities as well.”

Maharashtra to create tourism task force with equal industry participation: Aaditya Thackeray

Tourism Minister of Maharashtra, Aaditya Thackeray has said that Maharashtra government will be the first state to announce something promising for the tourism sector and deliver on it while also creating a task force with equal contribution from the travel and hospitality industry along with government and industry-specific experts for the economic revival of the state and the industries. Speaking during a webinar conducted under the FHRAI, the minister also asked the travel and tourism industry experts to prepare documents to consider short, medium and long term measures to revive the tourism and hospitality sector in the state. “We have to take the state of Maharashtra ahead, pitch it to the world. I am really keen to make Maharashtra the first to declare and deliver something for the hotel industry. We have to revive very quickly, take the sector ahead and figure out how we can work with the other sectors. A task force has been set up, we can work in sync, understand what is doable in the medium-term and long-term,” said Thackeray. The webinar was attended by Gurbaxish Singh Kohli, Vice President, FHRAI; Dilip Datwani, Former President, HRAWI and CMD of Hotel Jayshree; Jimmy Mistry, CMD & Principal Designer, Della Group; Sanjay Sethi, MD, Chalet Hotels; Param Kannampilly, Chairman of Fern Hotels; SP Jain, MD of Pride Hotels; and Vivek Nair, CEO, Leela Group. Maharashtra Tourism inks MoU with Ola

In a bid to boost tourism, Maharashtra Tourism has signed an MoU with Ola. Under this MoU, the state tourism and Ola will set up a mutual system of cooperation based on the respective expertise, to reinvent the ‘Mumbai Darshan’ package with its own offers pertaining to Ola Rentals. These packages offer 10 hour rides or for 100 kms subject to the conditions provided on the Ola App in four categories namely Mini, Prime Play, Prime Sedan, and Prime SUV. The Mumbai Darshan package will cover 10 must visit destinations of the city. Those identified are Gateway of India, Haji Ali, Juhu Beach, Bandra-Worli sea link, Hanging Gardens. Marine Drive, Shahrukh Khan’s bungalow ‘Mannat’. The locations can be modified basis the requirement of the customers. The first batch of exclusively co-branded Mumbai Darshan and Maharashtra Tourism cars were flagged-off by Jayakumar Rawal, Tourism Minister,  Government of Maharashtra, along with Valsa Nair Singh, Principal Secretary-Tourism, and Pranay Jivrajka, Founding Partner at Ola, in Mumbai on April 12, 2017. The state tourism department in association with Ola will train drivers in imparting information related to Mumbai Darshan, Bollywood trivia, details of heritage legacy and hidden gems. Pick up points across the city have been provided by Ola who are the official partners for the ‘Visit Maharashtra’ Campaign.
