Indiatourism roadshow & agent Fam in Indore

Under its ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ initiative, Indiatourism Mumbai office recently conducted a roadshow in Indore. This was followed by a three-day Fam tour to Mandu and Maheshwar in MP along with a city tour of Indore, sponsored by MP Tourism. Present at the roadshow were Sonia Meena, Deputy Secretary and Additional Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board. More than 20 agents were a part of this Fam. The Ahmedabad-Indore-Ahmedabad tickets were sponsored by Flybig.

Vistara launches daily flights to Sharjah from Delhi and Mumbai

Vistara has launched its daily services between Delhi and Sharjah, under the travel bubble agreement between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and from 24th January the airline will also fly daily between Mumbai and Sharjah. Vistara will deploy its A320neo aircraft with a three-class cabin configuration and enhanced features on the Delhi-Sharjah flight. Leslie Thng, Chief Executive Officer, Vistara, said, “These flights further strengthen our presence in the Middle East while offering travellers the choice of flying India’s best airline between India and the UAE.”

Minister Patel on Mumbai tour

Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of State (I/C) for Tourism & Culture, was recently on a tour of Mumbai city. While there, he convened a meeting with the officers of Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Culture at Indiatourism office in Mumbai. Senior officers of both the ministries, its attached/ autonomous body and subordinating offices situated in Mumbai attended the meeting.

Gaya-Mumbai direct flight starting from 25th December

IndiGo is all set to start operating its direct flight to Mumbai from the Gaya airport from December 25. The new connection would boost Jain and Buddhist tourism in the region. Already, IndiGo is operating a daily flight between Delhi and Gaya. The Mumbai-Gaya flight will be operated four days a week – Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. There are reports of starting direct flights to Bengaluru and Kolkata from Gaya by next year. Bookings for the Mumbai flight have already started.

Mumbai trade visits and promotes Kashmir

Tour operators from Maharashtra have started the ‘Unlock Kashmir Tourism Campaign’ with support from the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department, for which a 70-member delegation of travel operators from Mumbai visited Kashmir. Since the tourism industry in J&K took was shaken post COVID, tourism department of J&K supported this initiative and invited the trade and media to promote tourism sector in the valley.

SpiceJet to fly direct London from Delhi & Mumbai starting 4th Dec

SpiceJet has announced non-stop flights connecting Delhi and Mumbai with London’s Heathrow airport from December 4. With this announcement, SpiceJet would become the third Indian airline, and the first low-cost carrier, to fly to London. The new connections come under the air bubble agreement with UK. “SpiceJet will operate thrice-a-week to London including twice from Delhi and once-a-week from Mumbai,” revealed Ajay Singh, CMD, SpiceJet on a virtual event for announcement of the new flight. SpiceJet will use an Airbus A330-900 Neo aircraft for these flights. This is a huge milestone for us and I am proud of the fact that SpiceJet will be the first Indian low-cost airline to operate non-stop long-haul flights to the UK. London is one of the busiest long-haul destinations from India and our convenient flight timings should suit the convenience of our passengers perfectly,” added Singh.
