NTB commence series of roadshows in India, displaying diversity and beautiful country. The roadshow took place in six major cities of South and West India, aiming to strengthen the cordial relations between India and Nepal. Buzz Travel Marketing was appointed by NTB to organize the roadshows across India. South India Sales Mission started roadshows in Kochi on 7 June 2023, followed by Coimbatore on 9 June, and Madurai on 12 June. NTB officials attended these events accompanied by Destination Management Companies (DMCs) from Nepal. The roadshows in the South Zone will provide an opportunity for travel professionals, including tour operators, travel agents, and media representatives, to explore the huge tourism offerings of Nepal. The West India Sales Mission started in Ahmedabad on 14 June, followed by Vadodara on 16 June, and concluded in Surat on 19 June. Representatives of 15 private organizations from Nepal also attended the events. The roadshows held in the West Zone to focus on fostering fruitful collaborations between Indian and Nepalese travel professionals, along with developing and nurturing cultural, natural, and adventure treasures of Nepal. Attendees had interactive presentations, connecting opportunities, and discussions on trends and developments in the Nepalese tourism industry. Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is gearing to come up with a Recovery Plan to sustain the industry for the days to come, revealed an official statement from the tourism board. “We are conducting an online survey to assess the data of the tourism industry to make recommendations to the Government on possible support and relief packages to overcome the crisis brought about by the COVID-19 outbreak,” it stated. The release further stated, “We have now zero active cases in major tourists’ destinations including Kathmandu and Pokhara and no deaths in the country from COVID till now. With the destinations opening after the containment of the Virus, the travellers of tomorrow will be looking for destinations with better Hygiene and Sanitation. As such, to prepare Nepal as the newly defined Normal Destination, we have prepared a separate Hygiene and Sanitation Protocol/code of conduct for different sectors of the tourism industry, which we will soon upload/ distribute. Nepal will develop night tourism in Kathmandu and will be focusing on M!CE tourism from India, revealed Lila Bahadur Baniya, Officiating Director, Nepal Tourism Board, while addressing the delegates at the Nepal Sales Mission, organised by Nepal Tourism Board, the National Tourism Organization (NTO) of Government of Nepal, in Amritsar. Nepal Sales Mission, is travelling to 9 Indian Cities from 6th January to 1st February 2020. Nepal Tourism Board along with Nepal Airline Corporation is conducting a three-city roadshow in India. It started with Mumbai on July 5, followed by Ahmedabad on July 6 and Hyderabad sometime in August this year. The eight-member delegation from Nepal included hotels, agents and allied services. Ranu Shah, Senior Officer (Tourism Product & Resources Development), Nepal Tourism Board, said, “We want to promote Nepal aggressively in India after the earthquakes that hit tourism business last year.” Meanwhile, Nepal Airlines is looking at improving air connections between India and Nepal. Shailesh Kansakar, Deputy Director (External & Public Affairs), Corporate Development, Nepal Airlines, added, “We are currently busy with conducting a survey to calculate the potential in starting operations from Ahmedabad and Hyderabad to Kathmandu.”
