Minister Khaunte urges Centre to increase international flights to Goa to attract inbound tourism 

Rohan Khaunte, Minister, Goa Tourism, met with Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Tourism Minister, Govt of India, to discuss improving international connectivity and expediting the PRASHAD scheme for the Basilica of Bom Jesus. Goa looking forward to tap new and emerging markets by participating in global trade fairs, says Rohan Khaunte    

Rohan Khaunte, Tourism Minister, Goa, said, “The state is looking forward to tap new and emerging markets by participating in global trade fairs. During Covid-19, the international footfall in Goa was only 33,000, which has now increased to 4.5 lakh this year.” In the last four years, Goa has spent ₹63 crore to promote the state within the country.

Tourism in Goa relies on Russia, UK & few parts of Europe: Rohan Khaunte, Tourism Minister

Rohan Khaunte, Tourism Minister, Goa, has said that Goa’s tourism depends largely on UK and Russia, along with some parts of Europe. It is believed that British and Russian tourists pay more than other foreign tourists when they arrive in the state. Khaunte added that the government is taking all measures to get a “good footfall with good spending”.
