Join the World Tourism Day Celebrations with TTAG, SKAL, and Goa Tourism

As part of the global celebrations for World Tourism Day, the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) and Skal International, in collaboration with Goa Tourism, have organised a series of exciting and enriching activities on 27th September to highlight Goa’s cultural and historical heritage. With this year’s theme focusing on Tourism & Peace, three exclusive heritage walks have been curated to offer a deep dive into Goa’s rich history and local life. These walks are open to all, providing a unique opportunity to explore Goa like never before. In addition to the heritage walks, an exciting highlight of the celebrations includes the launch of a coffee table book at the cooking competition “Goencho Swad” by the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM). This event not only showcases Goa’s culinary traditions but also adds a literary touch, offering insights into the state’s diverse cultural and gastronomic heritage. Skål International India’s third Congress opens

Skål International India’s third Congress welcomes its members to Kolkata. The event is being held from August 17 -19. “This is the third Skål Congress, first we had in Goa, then we had in Kochi and now we have in Kolkata. Its our privilege to call upon all Skal members all over India which is 1250, which is second largest club in th world, to welcome them to Kolkata,” said Sanjeev Mehra, 2nd Vice President Skål International India. “Pan India, all the travel professionals who are  member of Skal are coming to Kolkata participate in the Congress and together we will mvoice as together we can, a slogan which we all like to raise,”said Manav Soni, President, Skal International Kolkata.

Kuldeep Bhartee elected as president of Skål Bombay

Kuldeep Bhartee, General Manager (Area Manager – West) ITC Hotels, and General Manager, ITC Maratha, was elected unopposed as the President of Skål International, Bombay Club in its recently-held 62nd Annual General Meeting at the West End Hotel in Mumbai. More than 80 members attended the event. Bhartee gave a presentation on his vision and goals of the club along with the roadmap which lay ahead. He said, “Mumbai has witnessed a tremendous growth in international and domestic tourist arrivals in 2017. This strong momentum is expected to continue in the coming years. Being an elite club, the management committee of the club will rise to the occasion and will work closer with all stakeholders to ensure it benefits every member.” The new Skål Club of Bombay committee members are Kuldeep Bhartee as President, Sunil Chopra as Vice President, Vaibhav Kedia as Vice President, Sunil Acharya as Secretary, Kunal Sampat as Jt Secretary and Arvind Tandon as Treasurer. The Committee Members are Suresh Gulrajani, Rosita Haribal, Jyot Jhaveri, Vinayakk Laud and Sujata Mariwala. The Co-opted Members are Rakesh Marrott and Jason O’Conner.

Skål International India’s National Congress to be held in August in Kolkata

Skål International India’s National Congress will be held from August 17-19 in Kolkata. Commenting on the upcoming events of the association, Ranjit Vig, Secretary, Skål International Delhi said, the general body’s AGM will take place on August 14, 2018. The Skål International India’s World Congress will be held in Mombasa, Kenya later this year, he said. He announced this during the luncheon meeting hosted at The Park, New Delhi. During the meeting, special invitee and guest speaker, Rajeev Talwar, CEO, DLF addressed the members on promoting tourism within India. He said, “The industry should focus more on promoting destinations within India for Indian tourists. The domestic market has huge scope of growth.” Talwar along with Sunil Ghadiok, President, Skål International Delhi also felicitated new Skål members with membership certificates.

Skål Asian Area Congress in Bahrain from May 12-15

Skål Asian Area has confirmed the program for its 2017 Annual Congress and General Assembly which will take place in Bahrain from May 12 to 15, 2017 at Gulf Hotel in Manama. The Chief Executive of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority, Sheikh Khalid Bin Humood Al Khalifa, has been invited to make the opening address. Keynote addresses are also expected from local tourism industry executives representing such organisations as the Bahrain Economic Development Board, the Bahrain Airport Company, Sabre and SITA. Arun Raghavan, Asian Area Secretary, Skål International, stressed the value of the delegate packages. He said, “We have worked hard on the Congress package pricing to attract high numbers of delegates from our member clubs ensure maximum value and return. The packages are competitively priced and represent remarkable value. The 2017 Congress in Bahrain presents a fantastic opportunity to meet and network with fellow industry professionals.” Early bird discounts on the total registration package are available for a limited period. Delegates have the option of staying at the Gulf Hotel, K-Hotel and Ramada Bahrain hotels in Manama city. Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air has pledged to provide a 30 per cent discount on air fares for all delegates.
