Sarovar Hotels has announced the signing of a new hotel in South Goa, marking the group’s further foray into the state. Sarovar Portico in Palolem will offer guests a perfect stay experience upon completion in mid-2019. In addition to well-appointed 48 rooms, the hotel will offer all-day dinning, bar, spa, gymnasium and swimming pool. The hotel will also feature meeting rooms for up to 300 guests to meet the rapidly growing demand of MiCE segment. Commenting on the development, Anil Madhok, Executive Chairman, Sarovar Hotels & Resorts, said, “We are delighted to expand our presence in the market. We believe the hotel’s location clubbed with Sarovar’s signature hospitality will deliver a notable experience to its business and leisure guest’s alike.”

ITC Hotels has announced the opening of its 13th luxury hotel in India, ITC Grand Goa, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, formerly known as the Park Hyatt Goa Resort & Spa, on Arossim beach in Cansaulim, South Goa. Celebrating the spirit of Goa, this 252-keys beach-side, village-styled resort’ s architecture draws inspiration from the Indo-Portuguese vintage and comprises six signature dining options, indoor and outdoor meeting and banquet spaces and Kaya Kalp- The Royal Spa. The Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has introduced helicopter joy rides from Park Hyatt to Arossim in South Goa from Sunday. The GTDC and Pawan Hans joint venture saw as many as 75 passengers on day one. Chairman of GTDC, Nilesh Cabral said, “We  now have helicopter rides and hot air balloons which will serve as a huge attraction for tourists  to Goa. There is a lot more to come in the months ahead and we are optimistic that all these new initiatives will go a  long way in putting Goa on the map for  world class adventure and leisure  tourism.”
