40+ Singapore stakeholders expected at STB Virtual Tradeshow

GB Srithar, Regional Director, India, Middle East & South Asia, Singapore Tourism Board, has revealed that they are expecting 40+ Singapore tourism stakeholders (comprising attractions, DMCs and hotels) to network and re-engage with the travel trade in India at the Singapore Virtual Tradeshow. The virtual event is scheduled on January, 12th, 15th, 19th and 21st for South, North, West and East India respectively. “Themed “Charting Our Pathways to Tourism Recovery”, we will present latest developments in Singapore and share information on some of the product enhancements by the stakeholders with safe management measures in place,” he said.

Singapore launches platform to shape future of travel

Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has announced a new initiative to reimagine travel for Singapore and the rest of the world, by sparking conversations, stories and ideas to collectively shape the future of travel. Called SingapoReimagine, it will kick off with a series of forums around the world to start discussions on how to reshape global travel. Global partners will be invited to share knowledge and exchange ideas, with the first one to be held in Singapore next year before being hosted in other parts of the world.

Singapore pumps in more than US$33 billion into its tourism, aviation sectors

Singapore has recently announced massive financial support for specific sectors that have been badly hit by the COVID-19 outbreak, including the aviation, tourism, land transport and arts and culture industries under its Resilience Budget. This was revealed by GB Srithar, Regional Director (India, Middle East and South Asia), Singapore Tourism Board, during the first-ever TravTalk Digital Conclave. Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat announced more than SG$ 48 billion (approx. US$ 33.7 billion) in different areas related to tourism. The aviation sector alone will get SG$ 350 million of additional support. Sridhar was part of the second session that focussed on present circumstances and possible future for tourism. About SG$ 90 million has been set aside to help the tourism industry rebound. A separate SG$ 55 million support package has been allocated to sustain and revive the arts and culture sector. The fund will also include Point-to-Point Support Package for taxi and private hire car drivers, who will receive the Special Relief Fund payments of SG$ 300 per vehicle per month until the end of September 2020. The government will also offer one-year road tax rebate and six-month waiver of parking charges at government-managed parking facilities for private bus owners.

Singapore Tourism joins forces with Sheeraz Tours to capture UP market

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) together with 3 travel partners (Resorts World Sentosa, Dream Cruises and Royal Caribbean International / TIRUN Travel Marketing) took part in a trade engagement event organised by Sheeraz Tours in Lucknow on February, 26. The session was held in Hotel Hilton Garden and was well attended by more than 100 tour operators and agencies from in and around the city. Leveraging on Sheeraz Tours’ strength as a leading player in Uttar Pradesh on both b2c and b2b fronts, the event enabled STB and its partners an effective platform to reach out to and build connections with the local travel trade partners and providing them with an update on their respective product offerings. This was all about the new product updates and also about the speculation for coronavirus which is going in the mind of tourists travelling abroad, Raymond Lim, Area Director, Singapore Tourism Board, India has gave the presentation along with Dhirti Kapoor. Ms Diksha Batra, Vice President- Sales, Dream Cruises, Pradeep Israni-Senior Manager, Resort World Sentosa and Midhat Hussain, Head North India, Royal Caribbean Cruise were also part of the event. Apart from giving the product information for 2020, they also guided the travel agents on how clear the myth of COVID-19 from the client’s mind and what safety measures are being taken to fight the virus. Singapore Tourism Board partners with Zomato to bring the Singapore Food Experience to Delhi

The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) partnered with Zomato for Zomaland Season 2, a multicity food and entertainment carnival across ten cities in two formats – Zomaland in Pune, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai; and Zomaland Picnics in Jaipur, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Chennai and Ahmedabad. This association is an integral part of STB’s efforts to engage with foodies in India through the showcasing of Singapore food and experiences through a designated “Singapore Experience Zone” at Zomaland. Over three days (13th to 15th December), attendees to Zomaland Delhi enjoyed food from the world’s first Michelin Star hawker, Liao Fan Hawker Chan’s famous Soya Sauce Chicken Rice at the “Singapore Experience Zone”. In addition to this, they will also got to savour signature dishes like Kaya toast, Char Kway Teow (Stir-fried Rice Noodles), Chicken Satay and Ice Milo by Nasi and Mee, a popular restaurant chain in India serving Singaporean dishes.
