The Ministry of Culture & Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye and Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), in collaboration with the Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), have successfully concluded the first leg of their mega six-city India Roadshow 2024, in New Delhi. The event held on 30 January at The Oberoi Hotel, marked the commencement of the roadshow with a grand kick-off in the National Capital. In attendance at the roadshow were 30 key stakeholders from Türkiye, including Tour operators, Hoteliers, and MCs. The attendees witnessed an immersive exploration of Türkiye’s stunning landscapes, historical landmarks, and vibrant cities. Read More »Turkiye aims for 350,000 Indian visitors in 2024, focus will be on joint activities with tourism sector
Onur Gozet, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Republic of Turkey, said that in 2019 the number of Indian visitors to Turkey was 2.3 lakh. In 2022, it was estimated to have been 2.7 lakh. The aim is to reach 3.5 lakh Indian visitors in 2024. He was speaking at the joint roadshow with TAAI.

Turkey is all set to further ease the restrictions imposed on the travellers from 1st July. The new unlock rules also include the removal of the night curfew restrictions including weekends for locals and tourists. All dining options, restaurants and bars will be functional. Entertainment houses like cinema halls and concert venues can function without any restrictions subject to adherence to COVID-19 appropriated guidelines. The 14-day quarantine rule for anyone who has travelled to India within the last 14 days is still in place but travellers will now have the option of staying at the quarantine Hotel of their choice and at their own expense. Turkey is also undertaking one of the biggest vaccination drive where 40% of the country’s population has received the first dose and is working dedicatedly to fully vaccinate 70% of the total population by August. The new guidelines have been announced keeping into consideration the decreasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country however hygiene, mask and social distancing rules will be followed throughout.
