South Indian states should promote inter-state bundled packages and circuits: Venkatesan Dhattareyan

Appealing to the states to collaborate for tourism acceleration, Venkatesan Dhattareyan, Regional Director (South), Ministry of Tourism, GoI, said that he believes the interstate travel circuits with bundled packages promoting multiple states or two states in one itinerary should be encouraged with a focus on lesser known destinations for the ease of travellers. It will help in equitable distribution of tourists and will benefit the region.

In a first, Indiatourism reaches out to outbound agents to promote India

In order to widen its scope to promote India, IndiaTourism has taken the first step to reach out to outbound agents. Venkatesan Dhattareyan, Regional Director, Indiatourism Mumbai, says, “Indiatourism has conducted a session with the Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI) which is quite historic. They traditionally promote destinations outside of India but they have now come forward to learn about India. This is another avenue that we are trying to explore and gives them a chance to learn something new.”

Indiatourism commemorates anniversary of Revolt of 1857

Indiatourism Mumbai along with IHM Mumbai conducted a session on ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ for the institute’s students and faculty. The online session, attended by 120 students, was a commemoration of the Revolt of 1857 and the lesser-known freedom fighters of India. It was guided by Venkatesan Dhattareyan, Regional Director, West & Central, Indiatourism and Malti Dutta, Assistant Director, West & Central, Indiatourism. This was the first of many sessions that will be conducted following the programme charted out for ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.
