Ministry of Tourism has sought inputs from IATO on the promotion and marketing of Incredible India. The Ministry desires to plan in advance for these promotions and marketing so that as soon as e-Visa, tourist visa and international flights are announced or resume, it can begin with the promotions and marketing effort in a bid to revive tourism from international market.

IATO has shortlisted 14 short-distance itineraries for tours of 2-3 days and submitted the list to Ministry of Tourism on the latter’s request. The ministry had also asked IATO to give suggestions for promoting seaplane travel, golf and Buddhist tourism. The Association has submitted the same after receiving inputs from its chapter chairmen.

Secretary, IATO has informed that Ministry of Tourism has proposed a new category called green shoots or stand-ups for granting recognition to start-ups. “Anyone starting a new business will be able to apply for MOT recognition without any specific capital or turnover requirement. This can earn them a provisional recognition valid for 3 years,” he said.
