Maharashtra government released ₹72.45 crore for the development of eco-tourism in the state recently. Out of ₹273 crore allotted by the state for the period 2024-25 to develop tourism sites, ₹101.31 was released between May to September. Overall, 30 eco-tourism sites will benefit under this.

Maharashtra Tourism organised a mother’s day event in Mother’s day week as a treat to moms in a Bollywood style. The mommy bloggers were shown around the Bollywood Theme Park created at Filmcity, Goregaon, on Thursday, 5th May 2022. Around 20 bloggers from Bloggers Meet Info (BMI) community participated in the event. The event started with delicious lunch treat to the mommies followed by 7D theatre experience at the park. They found it thrilling, exciting and entertaining. Most of them experienced 7D for the first time. In Croma theatre they learnt how film footages are shot, edited in VFX and the secrets of foley sounds used in movies to create dramatic effect. An AV on the history of Indian Cinema in a vintage Bollywood style theatre was shown to them. The participants had a fun time enjoying filmy performances of the troop. The park had huge beautifully created sets of different themes along with costumes of popular film characters on display for trial purpose. Dummy bollywood artists were also present to entertain them with their tricks and acts. Tourism Minister of Maharashtra, Aaditya Thackeray has said that Maharashtra government will be the first state to announce something promising for the tourism sector and deliver on it while also creating a task force with equal contribution from the travel and hospitality industry along with government and industry-specific experts for the economic revival of the state and the industries. Speaking during a webinar conducted under the FHRAI, the minister also asked the travel and tourism industry experts to prepare documents to consider short, medium and long term measures to revive the tourism and hospitality sector in the state. “We have to take the state of Maharashtra ahead, pitch it to the world. I am really keen to make Maharashtra the first to declare and deliver something for the hotel industry. We have to revive very quickly, take the sector ahead and figure out how we can work with the other sectors. A task force has been set up, we can work in sync, understand what is doable in the medium-term and long-term,” said Thackeray. The webinar was attended by Gurbaxish Singh Kohli, Vice President, FHRAI; Dilip Datwani, Former President, HRAWI and CMD of Hotel Jayshree; Jimmy Mistry, CMD & Principal Designer, Della Group; Sanjay Sethi, MD, Chalet Hotels; Param Kannampilly, Chairman of Fern Hotels; SP Jain, MD of Pride Hotels; and Vivek Nair, CEO, Leela Group.
