Reddy proposes Bharat Gaurav Tourist trains for Krishna & Buddhist Circuit

G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Tourism, Culture and DoNER and Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Railways, flagged off the first Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train operating on the Ramayana Circuit. Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that MOT, in association with IRCTC and Ministry of Railways has also proposed Bharat Gaurav Tourist Trains for Krishna Circuit, Buddhist Circuit and many other circuits.

‘Music festival aims at sensitising people about need to give voice to ‘unheard’ artistes’: Reddy

On the occasion of World Music Day, G Kishan Reddy, Minister of Tourism, Culture and DoNER inaugurated Jyotirgamaya, a festival to showcase the talent of rare musical instruments from across the country, including street performers and other unsung performers. He said, “The festival also envisages sensitising people about the need to safeguard the craft of making as well as the skill of playing rare musical instruments, and to give a voice to ‘unheard’ artistes.”

National conference of tourism ministers to be organised in July: Arvind Singh

Arvind Singh, Secretary, Tourism, has said that the MOT will be organising a national conference of tourism ministers in July to work on a strategy for promoting India as an important destination to the rest of the world. “The agenda will be how to project India and the states to different parts of the world to attract both domestic and international tourism in the years to come,” he added.

All three tourism ministers to lead International Yoga Day celebrations in different cities

We have to sensitise and empower local communities to promote green tourism

Additional Secretary Tourism Rakesh Verma said that it is important to sensitise and empower the local communities in developing sustainable skill development that are required for green tourism. Promotion of homestays, investment plans and destination development need to link with green and sustainable tourism policies and all the other aspects of sustainable tourism.
