Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Delhi Tourism & PHDCCI take step towards making Delhi the most event friendly city

In a landmark initiative aimed at transforming Delhi into the nation’s premier destination for live entertainment, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Sports Minister, Kapil Mishra, Tourism Minister, Delhi and Hari Ranjan Rao, Sports Secretary have pledged robust support to the events industry.

During a high-level meeting by EEMA and PHDCCI, the Honourable Minister outlined a comprehensive plan to reduce operational costs for event venues, including the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex.

“We are committed to support Delhi as a global hub for live events and entertainment. By streamlining processes and reducing costs, we aim to foster a vibrant cultural scene that benefits both artists and audiences,” said Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports.

“Our vision is to transform Delhi into a creative capital that celebrates art, music and culture. This initiative will not only boost tourism but also create numerous employment opportunities,” stated Kapil Mishra, Tourism Minister, Delhi.

Rajeev Jain, Chair, PHDCCI Entertainment Committee, expressed gratitude for the government’s proactive approach: “We wholeheartedly thank the Honourable Ministers for their unwavering support and for considering our representation. This collaborative effort heralds a new era for Delhi’s entertainment industry and aligns with our goal of making the city a beacon for Live Performances and Events.”

The meeting was attended by Ankur Kalra, General Secretary of EEMA; Sabbas Joseph from Wizcraft, Anil Makhija from BookMyShow and Karan from Zomato.
