ITA Airways launched the new, direct Washington – Rome roundtrip flight, which will be initially operated with five weekly flights, and will become daily from August 1 to cover the high season. The monographic exhibition “Imagining the Future: Leonardo da Vinci: In the Mind of an Italian Genius,” hosted by “Confindustria,” the Association of Italian Industry, for the inaugural event of its new headquarters in Washington, presents ITA Airways as Official Carrier. The project developed in joint partnership with Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana was presented on June 20, 203, during an international press conference held at the Martin Luther King JR Memorial Library Auditorium, Washington D.C As an expert in the handling of sensitive consignments, the exceptional operation of this piece of art was carried out by ITA Airways. In addition to the transportation under strict security measures, the critical stages of palletizing, custody and transfer were carried out in a temperature controlled environment to meet requirements to ensure the preservation of this unique artwork. WTTC forecasts the total contribution of Travel and Tourism to India’s GDP will more than double from USD234 billion in 2017 to USD492.2 billion in 2028. Besides the direct contribution of travel and tourism to national GDP, the sector’s induced contribution increased 6.6 per cent per annum between 2012 and 2017, while indirect contribution grew at 7.5 per cent during the period, CAPA India’s Inbound Tourism Report reveals. The sector can support job opportunities in rural opportunities in rural communities — where they are needed the most, especially in developing countries like India. Additionally, for developing economies, travel services were consistently the lead contributer towards service exports between 2006 to 2016.

Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) has launched ‘Take another look’ campaign as part of its strategy to present a new portrait of the country, enhance its destination value and double the current in-bound tourism by 2023. The brand positioning and identity is an invitation to attract travellers to consider Azerbaijan from a unique point of view and discover its untold stories and secrets. With a new brand and the ‘Take another look’ promotional campaign, Azerbaijan will focus on increasing the number of tourists from a broader pool of countries throughout Europe, the Middle East, China, as well as Central and Southeast Asia. Azerbaijan Airlines, the flag carrier of Azerbaijan, has announced direct charter flights from India to Azerbaijan in 2019. Florian Sengstschmid, CEO, Azerbaijan Tourism Board, said, “As we encourage visitors to ‘Take another look’, we are inviting them to take a more in-depth look at Azerbaijan and immerse themselves in truly genuine cultural experiences. Guests will want to dig deeper into the country’s history and rich cultural heritage as they discover pleasant surprises and hidden gems throughout the year.” Indian passport holders are eligible for e-Visa to Azerbaijan, which is processed online within 3 hours through the new simplified electronic visa procedure. The new initiatives are expected to improve Azerbaijan’s ranking among countries with a high tourism contribution towards national GDP, according to the World Travel and Tourism Council 2018 Impact Report. It is forecasted to be at 6 per cent per annum over the course of the next 10 years ranking it amongst the world’s top 20 high-potential countries.
