Rupinder Brar, ADG, Tourism, has said that MOT will be working very closely with both Ayush and Home Ministry to make sure that this visa gets enabled very fast. She also said, “As seen in the last few years, e-visa facility has grown for not just tourism but medical visa as well. It has only helped India forge its position in these sectors.”

Rupinder Brar, ADG, Tourism, has revealed that all three ministers of tourism will be leading the event at major sites on behalf of MOT. “Union Minister of Tourism G Kishan Reddy will be at the Anand Sagar Lake in Hyderabad and State Tourism Ministers Ajay Bhatt and Shripad Yesso Naik will be at Wagah Border in Punjab and Churches and Convents of Goa in Old Goa respectively.

Speaking at the International Cruise Conference 2022 in Mumbai, G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister, Tourism, said, “Our aim is to promote domestic and international cruise terminals at selected ports by 2023. Since many Indians visit foreign destinations for cruises we are making efforts to promote it within India”.

Tourism is designated as an industry, and as such, it will benefit from government tariffs and levies in accordance with Industry norms. On Wednesday, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot presented the state budget for the years 2022-23. Kerala Tourism Minister Riyas, speaking at a press conference in Dubai on the sidelines of the Kerala Week at Expo 2020, said the state is eager to collaborate with UAE-based investors and Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs) in writing a new story of growth and development in key sectors, particularly tourism, as the state recovers from the covid-induced crisis.

The Philippines will relax an almost two-year ban on foreign visitors and businesses entering the country next month, officials said, in an effort to resuscitate the country’s devastated tourism economy as the latest coronavirus outbreak eased. Returning Filipinos would be exempt from quarantine beginning February 1 and foreign visitors from February 10, but they must be vaccinated and test negative for COVID-19.

The celebrations are a little low-key owing to Omicron spread across the country.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a new circuit house near Gujarat’s famous Somnath Temple. In his remarks, Modi emphasised that the country is taking a holistic approach to tourism. “Today, the 4S—Swachhta (cleanliness), Suvidha (convenient), Samay (time), and Soch—are required to boost tourism” (thinking). Our tourist attractions and holy pilgrimage sites were previously unhygienic. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has changed that picture today.

Sumita Saroch, JD, Tourism, Rajasthan, speaking at the Expo 2020, has said that Rajasthan offers multiple picturesque settings and culture. During her presentation, she showcased Rajasthan as a social events destination. “Rajasthan Tourism Policy 2020 strongly focuses on promotion of wedding tourism in the state,” she said while presenting the various offerings and facilities for such events.
