MoT lists over 50 destinations to actively promote them under ‘Cool Summers of India’ campaign

In a bid to attract foreign tourists to India during summer, MOT has come up with a campaign to develop destinations that have good weather during this time. Manisha Saxena, DG, MOT, says, “The idea is to dispel the notion that India is too hot in summers, and attract tourists from warmer countries like Middle East, South East Asia and African countries. We hve picked over 50 destinations to actively promote them as tourist attractions.” Efforts are on to develop places like Bir Billing, Kinnaur, Dalhousie and Tirthan in HP, Patnitop in Jammu & Kashmir, Auli in Uttarakhand, Wayanad in Kerala, Thenzawl in Mizoram and Kurseong in West Bengal.

Japan, Vietnam, and USA Lead among preferred travel destinations by Indians in Q1 2024: Mastercard Study

As per Mastercard’s annual report, in 2024, more Indians are traveling globally. In the first three months of 2024, 97 million passengers travelled, with 21% surge in domestic air traffic, and 4% in international travel. Indians are increasingly exploring key markets, with a 53% increase in visits to Japan, 248% to Vietnam, and 59% to the US, compared to 2019.

Airfares finally started to decline as capacity recovers, still 4% higher than 2019: Forwardkeys

Olivier Ponti, Director of Intelligence & Marketing, Forwardkeys, shared that high airfare posed a significant obstacle recently due to strong demand and limited supply. As capacity returns, airfare is beginning to see a dip, although remaining 4% higher than 2019 levels by the end of April 2024. Cambodia Angkor Air will launch first direct flight between Phnom Penh and Delhi from 16 June

Cambodia Angkor Air will start its first direct route between Phnom Penh and New Delhi from 16 June with 4  flights per week, heralding a new era of seamless air travel between India and Cambodia. ITA Airways expands into Canadian market with new Toronto – Rome direct flight

ITA Airways has made its debut in the Canadian market with the launch of its new nonstop connection between Toronto and Rome. The inaugural flight took off today from Toronto Lester B. LOT Polish Airlines to add three Embraer E195-E2s

LOT Polish Airlines to lease three new E195-E2s from Azorra. All deliveries to take place between end July and Q3 2024. LOT Polish Airlines was the launch customer for Embraer’s first E-jet in March 2004. LOT Polish Airlines will add the Embraer E195-E2 to their fleet to enhance operational flexibility and accommodate network expansion. LOT will lease three new E195-E2 from Azorra, reaffirming their commitment to sustainable growth with the addition of the 25% more efficient E2 to their fleet. The first jet will arrive by the end of July this year, with all aircraft deliveries completed in Q3 2024. LOT requires a flexible solution for its capacity needs as the airline’s network grows. The E2 allows a seamless transition over just a few days for LOT’s existing E1 flight crews, and offers a spacious and comfortable cabin experience for passengers, delivering an unmatched travel experience with no middle seats.
