Rakesh Verma, Additional Secretary, Tourism, has said that the draft tourism policy has five missions at its core, and the first one is National Green Tourism Mission, which looks at mainstreaming sustainability in the tourism sector. “It’s a key challenge the sector faces and it is also one of the lessons from the pandemic that we need to develop tourism on sustainable and responsible lines.”

Rakesh Verma, Additional Secretary, Tourism has said MOT has come out with a draft National Tourism Policy in a bid to bring structural changes to the sector and lay down an ambitious framework for tourism growth. “It has 5 missions, which include National Green Tourism Mission, National Digital Tourism Mission, Tourism and Hospitality Sector Skill Mission, Destination Management, and Developing Tourism and Hospitality MSMEs. The policy is out for consultation and in around 5-6 weeks, we should be close to finalising the draft,” he said.

India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) hosted Vigilance Study Circle (VSC) NCR meet at The Ashok, New Delhi to discuss various vigilance related issues. The meeting was chaired by Praveen Sinha, Additional Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission (CVC); M R Krishna, President, VSC; Vinayak Garg, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), ITDC. Sinha delivered a lecture on vigilance related issues in the meeting. The best practices followed by any of the organisation were also shared for implementation in other organisations. Vigilance Study Circle NCR is a group of CVOs of various organisations or PSUs in NCR, who meet on regular basis and holds meetings on vigilance.
