ITA Airways was awarded the prestigious title of “Best travel inclusion initiative of the year” in the Business Travel category during the awards ceremony of the EMA – European Mission Awards. This year in its second edition, the event took place at the Teatro della Pergola in Florence. ITA Airways launched its nonstop service between San Francisco and Rome. The inaugural flight, AZ 641 connecting two cities departed on July 1 at 3:15 p.m. from San Francisco International airport. Emiliana Limosani, Chief Commercial Officer of ITA Airways & CEO Volare, speaking on the launch of the new flight said that with the launch of this new destination, the second in California and the sixth in North America, we consolidate the Company’s expansion towards the U.S. market, which the first international market for ITA Airways. He said, “The new connection to San Francisco further enriches the intercontinental network of ITA Airways, which is one of the Company’s main assets”. The new San Francisco International Airport – Rome Fiumicino flight will operate from 1 July to 30 July 2023 with 3 weekly frequencies departing every Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday at 3:15 p.m. and landing in Rome Fiumicino at 12:05 p.m. local time the day after. Return flights from Rome Fiumicino will be departing at 9:35 a.m. to land in San Francisco International Airport at 1:15 p.m., local time. In opening this new North American route, ITA Airways met the high demand and expectation of its customers, who immediately responded positively to the launch of a direct flight between San Francisco and Rome, determining a promising performance as of July, first month of operation

ITA Airways launched its nonstop service between San Francisco and Rome. ITA Airways launched the new, direct Washington – Rome roundtrip flight, which will be initially operated with five weekly flights, and will become daily from August 1 to cover the high season. The monographic exhibition “Imagining the Future: Leonardo da Vinci: In the Mind of an Italian Genius,” hosted by “Confindustria,” the Association of Italian Industry, for the inaugural event of its new headquarters in Washington, presents ITA Airways as Official Carrier. The project developed in joint partnership with Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana was presented on June 20, 203, during an international press conference held at the Martin Luther King JR Memorial Library Auditorium, Washington D.C As an expert in the handling of sensitive consignments, the exceptional operation of this piece of art was carried out by ITA Airways. In addition to the transportation under strict security measures, the critical stages of palletizing, custody and transfer were carried out in a temperature controlled environment to meet requirements to ensure the preservation of this unique artwork. ITA Airways and Turkish Airlines jointly declares the commencement of codeshare partnership that will be effective within July 2023. The signed agreement between the two flag carriers will be offering flexibility in terms of flight choices for customers of both airlines between Italy and Türkiye. Through this codeshare partnership, ITA Airways’ marketing flight numbers will be placed on Turkish Airlines’ flights between Rome and Istanbul; and Turkish Airlines will place its marketing numbers on 9 destinations of ITA Airways within Italy from Rome, including Brindisi, Bari, Catania, Florence, Genoa, Palermo, Lamezia Terme, Turin and Trieste. Mr. Bilal Ekşi, CEO, Turkish Airlines, said “Rome and Istanbul have always been exceptional cities to attract and connect people. I firmly believe this codeshare agreement between Turkish Airlines and ITA Airways will be developing the existing network with even more destinations and foster cooperation and traffic between two countries with high potential”.  Today, the Italian National Day, marks the launch of the new ITA Airways Washington Dulles – Rome Fiumicino direct flight. The inaugural flight, which departed today at 4:20 p.m. from Dulles International airport, was operated with the new Airbus A330neo, the first aircraft completely built according to ITA Airways’ new cabin design. To celebrate the launch of the new intercontinental route and the entry into service of the new aircraft, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the departure gate in the presence of Pierfrancesco Carino, Vice President International Sales ITA Airways, Chryssa Westerlund, Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer, Washington Metropolitan Airports Authority, and Min. Plen. Alessandro Gonzales, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Italy in Washington.   To further underline the importance of the new connection between North America and Italy, ITA Airways was partner of the Italian National Day celebrations held yesterday at the Italian Embassy in Washington. The delivery ceremony of ITA Airways’ first Airbus A330-900 held on April 26, 2023, at the Toulouse Airbus Delivery Center in the presence of Philippe Mhun, Executive Vice President Programmes and Services Airbus, Christophe Molus, Senior Vice President Airbus at Rolls Royce, Alex Khatibi, Vice President Marketing and Commercial Affairs Air Lease Corporation, Riccardo Privitera, Director Flight Operations ITA Airways, and Francesco Presicce, Chief Technology Officer ITA Airways. Airbus was delivered to Italy’s flagship carrier the first fully configured A330neo for ITA Airways’. The delivery flight from Toulouse to Fiumicino will be powered by 16 per cent blend of sustainable aviation fuel. ITA Airways’ first A330neo further strengthens the airline’s strategy of building a fleet entirely featuring Airbus aircraft, with 68 currently in operation. The A330neo expands ITA Airways’ long-haul fleet and will enter operation in June to serve the airline’s new intercontinental destinations. ITA Airways has signed an important agreement with the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) to ensure the connectivity to over 750 companies and IICCI membersbased in India. Through this agreement, the Italian flagship carrier will offer preferred fares for employees of those enterprises flying with ITA Airways between India and Italy, thus meeting the corporate travel needs of IICCI member companies. The partnership further strengthens ITA Airways‘ commitment to the integration and development of relations between the two Countries, which was enhanced with the opening of the New Delhi – Rome Fiumicino route on 4 December. The direct flight is operated three times a week, every Tuesday, Thursday,and Sunday departing from New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 3:50 am and arriving in Rome Fiumicino at 8:10 am. The return flight is departing every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 2:10 pm from Rome Fiumicino with arrival in New Delhi the following day at 2:00 am local time. Trade and investment between India and Italy are growing significantly. The direct connection from New Delhi to Rome and the partnership with the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will ensure a strategic contribution to the promotion of economic relations and cooperation between the two Countries. ITA Airways continues to enhance its intercontinental network to better meet the needs of travellers and will be opening its new direct flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi to Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Rome Fiumicino on December 4. The new route will be operated with an Airbus A330, three times a week, departing from New Delhi, every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 03:50 am and landing in Rome Fiumicino at 08:10 am. Return flights from Rome Fiumicino will depart every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 2:10 pm and will arrive in New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 02:00 am, local time. With the new intercontinental connection, ITA Airways is further expanding into the Asian market, while it continues to strengthen the ability to attract connecting customers, tapping into the flows between India and North America, Germany, Spain and France.
