Cleartrip and SpiceJet have announced a partnership with Google Flights. This enables consumers to view flight schedules and fares right within the Google Flight search page. Speaking on the partnership, Ajay Singh, CMD, SpiceJet, said, “Google Flights is an innovative offering that makes travel planning fun and intuitive. Uber has announce a partnership with Cleartrip, the online travel company. While on a trip, Uber riders can choose to receive recommendations on the Cleartrip app, on exciting events and experiences to do in the city they are present in, from India’s largest collection of activities and events. Anyone booking airline tickets, and local activities on Cleartrip will now also be able to book a ride in the Cleartrip app, without leaving the site or switching apps.

In order to ease travel booking Cleartrip has launched two new features- Price Lock and Pay@Hotel. Price Lock will allow clients to lock prices by paying a fee and pay only if the plans are confirmed. Thus a traveller can hold the lowest price well in advance and be protected from price increases. Pay@Hotel, on the other hand, lets the traveller book now and pay later at the hotel. The traveler pays only after he stays. Also, in case the hotel turns out to be different from what he saw at the time of booking, Cleartrip offers a ‘Sleep promise’ feature and will find another hotel that is more suited to the traveller’s needs. Cleartrip currently offers the largest collection of Pay@Hotel inventory in India. Subramanya Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer, Cleartrip said “Travel bookings are generally associated with anxiety. ixigo, in partnership with OYO Rooms and Cleartrip, launched ixibook, an in-app booking platform which will allow travellers to make bookings for flights and hotels within its app without being redirected to a third-party app or website. ixigo has collaborated with Cleartrip, and OYO Rooms, as its launch partners for flights and hotels respectively. Stuart Crighton, CEO, Cleartrip and Ritesh Agarwal, CEO, OYO Rooms said that this is the first-of-its-kind paradigm where an online travel agency and meta-search collaborate closely to create a better user experience and the travel agency will be able to expand their reach to engage leisure travel enthusiasts. On the launch, Aloke Bajpai, ixigo Co¬founder and CEO said, “This is a first of its kind innovation in the Indian travel market. With ixibook, we will deliver a much smoother customer experience for ixigoers and enhance conversions for our partners by allowing users to book with them natively within our app. We expect to move over 30 per cent of our flight and hotel bookings to ixibook within the next few months, as well as add more partners to ixibook later this year.” The app is currently available on andriod and an iOS version will be launched soon. The app allows a user to book a flight or hotel in just one tap , enabling direct booking and saving the user’s time by shortening the conversion funnel.
